@Wintermute_BBS If this matters I think the Agon Light has a larger community with more "going on".

I eventually want the #neo6502 as well but given that I have an Atari 800XL on my desk behind me it's very low on the list :)

Over the years I've collected many different single-board computers and microcontroller boards. Too many to even count.

But I don't think I've ever been as excited to get a new one as this: a #Neo6502 board from @olimex.

It's a 6502 (well, modern 65C02) mounted on a board, with the IO memory-mapped to an onboard RP2040 so that there is HDMI output, USB, and so on.

Now eagerly waiting for the weekend so I can play with it!

That's a good match for the #olimex #neo6502! I do recognize that #z80 came earlier, but having bootstrapped on a #commodore64 I do have a sweet spot for #6502.
I just wondering of is there a "free as in freedom" reimplementation of it

Finally opened the gift past self sent to current me - an @olimex Neo6502. It looks great and once I have some time I'll start to experiment with it.

Edit: yes, there's an actual 6502 CPU on it - a WDC65C02.

Since I pretty much gave up on getting a retro 6502 system because of absurd pricing and shipping, I bought a Neo6502 from @olimex instead. Including shipping and fees it was around 70 USD which is within my budget.
