This starts off relatively meandering, then in the second track, The 32, a bass groove kicks in, and there's no surprise that was the single... it's interesting how much this bounces between the two modes.
One track, Satomi, was specifically written for Deerhoof's Satomi Matsuzaki.

Tonight: you never know what you're going to get at the Stone or how you'll get it. With Jorge Roeder and Nels Cline it was nearly everything imaginable in all the ways. Stellar two-man freeform, Nels was peak Nels, unhinged and then some, Roeder just as impressive. Flabbergasting and more. How freakin lucky I am!

So awesome that there's space at this festival for a set like this in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. The live debut of Saccata Quartet, two drums, guitar, and bass. Nels Cline at his most untethered, Chris Corsano Corsano'n pretty hard, Glenn Kotche fully freeform and Darin Grey on no-rules bass. Wild shit, with some moments of serious transcendence, when it only really takes one.

Was in PA and AC NJ last week. Mostly work trip but some visiting too. A friend gave me a gift of a Nels Cline bobblehead!
Upon arrival in Atlantic City, Nels wanted to use the sun sky ocean view from my hotel as a back drop. He proceeded to rock out.
