    Look at that line up on the Fillmore marquee: Miles Davis and Neil Young & Crazy Horse, followed by John Mayall, the Moody Blues, and Joe Cocker. I didn't know Brian Auger, apparently he's a hammond organist / jazz pianist. This was during the tour to support Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, with Danny Whitten on guitar (he would pass in 1972). Each night included a solo acoustic set and a set with Crazy Horse.     This was the last album for Young & Crazy Horse on Reprise before the five album run on Geffin. Some would consider this a kind of punk or even post-punk (is 1981 too early for post-punk?) version of Neil Young & Crazy Horse.     Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Zuma, 1975 on Reprise

    Seventh studio album from Neil Young, and the first credited with Crazy Horse after Danny Whitten died in 1972.

    The individual song credits have two songs not attributed to Crazy Horse: “Pardon My Heart” (credited just to Neil Young) and “Through My Sails” (credited “with Crosby, Stills & Nash”).

    “Cortez the Killer” is a 7 and a half minute epic, and “Danger Bird” is also nearly 7 minutes – but this is Neil and Crazy Horse in full form and they sound great.

    My copy—via the Worcester Record Riot—is an original Santa Maria pressing on orange Reprise labels.

    Neil Young with Crazy Horse, World Record, 2022 on Reprise

    Great to have Neil Young put out a new album in 2022, his fifteenth with Crazy Horse (including Nils Lofgren, Ralph Molina, and Billy Talbot). Neil Young Archives Official Release Series (NYA ORS) 52. Recorded at Shangri-La in Malibu (Rick Rubin’s studio), and produced by Rubin and Young. Recorded and mastered all analog, as you might expect from Young.

    The photos in the gatefold and inner sleeves list the Young family and their birthdates:

    • Father: 4.14.18
    • Mother: 1.14.17
    • Son: 11.12.45
    • Brother: 4.27.42
    • Sister: 8.16.62

    My copy — via Waterloo Records in Austin TX — is a three-sided vinyl with a world map etched on the fourth side.
