I'm taking a Bulgarian needle lace class at the #OIDFA virtual convention. My #NeedleLace skills are minimal. But I'm still enjoying it.

I just described this lace as "feral" to the class. But it was still fun. The Lizbeth metallic thread is so good....

There is an article in #BritishVogue about #Carrickmacross lacemakers and a project they did. #Ireland is doing a fabulous job celebrating their lace history. I'm so jealous of their success!

I was out on #caturday to give a talk at the DAR in #NorthamptonMA but my friend brought this ADORABLE tin of cookies and I have become obsessed with it. I drove to #ConcordMA today to get it where she found it.

Of course I had to check out the antique stores too and the #lace gems that nobody cares about in the linen boxes.... A lovely #needlelace and a #crochet lace for almost nothing....

Thanks to the handy woodworker types for giving me the confidence to get this into the house! The newly adopted free trash-picked table is in.

Now the real question is: the linen square, the German stars cutwork table runner, or the Armenian needle lace circle....?

Photo shown of me getting the vintage table through my vintage doorway once the leaves were off and it was transportable.

One leaf is not on yet, but will eventually get on there.

For #WIPWednesday, I have finally completed another piece from the Lace Museum #LaceMarathon. It was a great day at the June solstice where they had 24 hours of lace class appetizers. Small projects to get your feet wet.

This was a #NeedleLace piece of sun and moon. I decided to add beads to commemorate the recent aurora.

It was fun. I think I made progress, especially on the new-to-me Venetian picots. Ha!

I think I need to get better at thread choices too. But that will come with practice.

I did my first #Carrickmacross lace this week. It's really an odd construction. You place pattern + netting + fine muslin in a sandwich and work through it all. Later you cut away either fabric or netting or both.

I don't have the right scissors, but otherwise I was able to do the beginner piece. Mistakes were made. But I liked it.

#WIPWednesday is a fitting sun #needlelace piece. I'm still catching up on the Lace Marathon projects from this summer (24 hours of lace straight!).

But I love that today I'm thinking about the sun and the aurora show--I think it might change my plans for the swirly bit now....

So, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away I accidentally bought a slew of vintage hats, as seen in the toot above.

And one of them was used to win a ribbon at the #BigE, our local state/New England fair.

I didn't expect to use this one--I thought it was going to be another. But I loved the pussy hat vintage vibes this gave me.

@mongoose Someone just donated a bunch of Puncetto books to our lace library. They look very good. Although all in Italian, they have really nice grid diagrams that explain how to do the stitches.

If you look in our library, and sort by high Index numbers, you can see the covers and ISBNs. Click "online web" and use that interface.

I was at the #RISD Museum yesterday to see the exhibit of #Philippines textiles made from pineapple fibers. But I walked down the hall and found this huge metal lace wall!

They call it needle lace but I'm pretty sure those are bobbin lace sections....?

Holy #BobbinLace Gods! Alex Stillwell has made a number of her really high quality books and pamphlets available for download.

At least one of them is really hard to find in print now. Someone in my lace group wanted a copy of that Floral Bucks Point and couldn't find it for sale.

Speaking of lace and beads, here's my #WIPWednesday. I used #LimerickLace techniques to make this. I'm going to trim the bottom with some needle lace and beads to give it a little weight.

They haven't banned veils at protests yet. I saw people defeating face recognition software with lace in other countries.
