#WillowTheSprocker is now 5 months old and proved her #spaniel genetics today by trotting up to me carrying a dead duck in her mouth while we were walking along the canal. She looked so proud of herself, the duck swinging by its neck as she ran around with it.
This did wonders for my #necrophobia, obviously. Not.
All the work we’ve been doing on “drop it” was completely useless when I really really really needed it to work. Apparently a real dead duck is far more exciting than the toys we’ve practiced with, and much more appealing than the treats I had with me too.
So that’s walks along the towpath off the agenda for a while then.
(I do feel I need to qualify that she didn’t actually kill the duck. The poor thing was long dead before she found it.)
