Silly #Poll: where are you along the #neckbeard pipeline?
(Note: the neckbeard is metaphorical. No actual facial hair required)
Also, please remember #DanesLaw: no matter how carefully someone attempts to construct a poll, the very first comment will usually expose a glaring oversight. That's just how it goes.

For a long time. I came in at the very beginning of the mass #Twexodus in early 2022*, and posted a couple helpful "How to #Fediverse" kind of toots, which got boosted to the moon, somehow.
Every now and then (like maybe once a year), I tap into the #neckbeard #zeitgeist and get boosted to the moon, like hundreds of boosts.
No idea, man. I have no idea why so many people follow me.
I just toot nerdy things that make me happy, for the most part. Occasionally #USPOL stuff, but honestly pretty rarely.
* I had actually joined #fedi in late 2018, tried it out for a bit, then quit. Then I joined again in 2019, and just had it on a very slow burn while I used other networks for my primary social stuff. I went all-in to the fediverse/#Mastodon in 2022.

OK, I'm done making fun of #Skiatook. May the tag be found on a future date.
PS. The city manager has a #neckbeard, wears safety orange & goes by the name "Buck."

I’m deep into building a #Pixelfed instance with a nice #Docker Compose option from @jippi and I realize I need to figure out the #hardware situation. I am going to #host this from my office closet. Does anyone have any #homelab tips or suggestions on how I should spec this out? #LinuxServer #containers #Linux #Computing #BOFH #neckbeard #nerdalert

Over the years it feels like the #neckbeard of old (#linux back in early #2000s #gentoo and #archlinux) are now the #windows gurus.
Staying with windows is like not only wanting to get cancer but also protecting it. -

I started with Cura and lasted about a week then into PS.
It ain't perfect but I can work around in it.
OrcaSlicer .. has everything hidden away via multiple levels of shit, like Cura, and that makes a #neckbeard whine

I'm wondering if it's about time for this clean-shaven #unixbro #neckbeard to switch to #Wayland. 🤔
It seems X11 is really coming to a crossroads and turning into maintenance-mode software.
At this point, it runs fine even on my 12th-Gen intel machine, but if I ever get newer hardware (not anytime soon, obvs.), I might need to make the switch. :/ -
