Wow, Android's NearbyShare was rebranded to Quick Share, because it's what Samsung uses as a name.

Thanks Google, now I can re-teach my parents where it's now...
(Also I think "Nearby Share" is a way better name, with a way better icon, but thats personal preference...)

Imo #whatsapp should have some kind of build in nearby filesharing similar to airdrop and #nearbyshare.
The mobile phone market is divided and Apple dosn’t want to support nearbyshare(it’s bad anyways) and wont make Airdrop an open standard.
In most of the world (everything except China(we-chat) and US(RSS/imessage)) the people use Whatsapp for pracktically all chat purposes. So it would make a lot of sense if whatsapp had a nearby file sharing feature, since everyone has it installed.
The same goes for #signal, but it has a smaller marketshare so the point of it being universally installed on everyones phones wouldn’t be there.
Regarding dedicated apps like #warp, as awesome as they may be, so few people have them installed it practically doesn’t matter.
