  1. I can't believe I ever listened to this guy.

Silicon Valley treats him like a guru, like a wise sage.

#NavalRavikant has always been ultra-capitalist, and he's been upfront with it, but he also gave solid advice for how to live a happy life. For example, for how to deal with envy.

He required the people who work for him, to work 80 hours a week. He was upfront with it and mentioned it in the job description. I knew I didn't want to work that much, and the people who applied knew and applied anyway, so I just shrugged off his #capitalism views and treated Naval Ravikant like a buffet: I picked his reasonable advice and rejected his unreasonable views.

Ravikant once said that no "science" that bears the word "science" in its name is actually science, in his opinion. With the sole exception of computer science maybe. He considers himself a hard-science nerd who regrets that he didn't study physics. Only physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics are real science in his view because only they are falsifiable according to Karl Popper's definition of science. Only they can provide "good explanations".

Now he's in the replies of his own tweet, writing it's "revealing that people automatically assume the comparison is negative".

As a software engineer myself—although I'm abhorred by the notion of vibe coding—I can see at least small arguments for why vibe coding appeals to some people. They cannot code, they don't want to learn it. Same maybe as I don't want to learn how to solder just for one project idea. It's not worth the effort. I'd rather pay someone else to do it for me. Except now they don't have to pay for someone's labor anymore.

I can see the appeal of vibe coding to some, although I think it's an insult to my craft.

If I want to live in a beautiful house, I don't take to vibe architecting my house (and dying in a collapse) when I think studying architecture isn't worth it if I'm only ever going to architect one single house. No, I talk with (and pay) an actual architect.

Vibe research though goes completely against Popper's idea of falsification. Instead of hitting some "regenerate" button 1000 times before I find a theory with a proof, I'm quicker if I actually understand what I'm doing instead of just "vibing".

  2. If you still listen to the podcast of any of Elon Musk's friends, then you are no friend of mine.

    That includes the podcasts of:

    - #LexFridman
    - #JoeRogan
    - #ShaneParrish
    - #NavalRavikant

Elon Musk is a disgusting murderer and nazi and abuser who is fine with pedophelia and enables child pornography.

All mentioned people are friends with him or support him. Some do it more openly, others mix interviews with scientists and apparent experts on interesting topics into their podcast and try to balance out their support of right-wing extremism. It makes no difference.

If you still listen to anyone's of these people's podcasts, I want nothing to do with you. You are listening to your own enemy and don't even realize it.

  5. Fascist fucker.

Wait until people start migrating by the millions, when it starts getting too hot for humans to survive where they live.

Of course that climate-catastrophe-induced scenario is exactly why these capitalist assholes all start calling for closed borders.

  6. In case you (or your co-workers) still think of Naval Ravikant as this wise philosopher–

He's just an ultra-far-right (if not fascist) exploitative selfish enemy of humanity.

If you don't believe me, ask the people who were deported to El Salvador or kidnapped to detention centers. Ask families who were separated at the border. Ask the "white trash" poor people who no longer can afford food and other necessities due to Republican policies.
