Debt-for-nature swaps are resurging: countries facing heavy debt can have portions forgiven in exchange for protecting and restoring ecosystems. This relieves financial pressure while safeguarding rainforests, coral reefs, and biodiversity. Creative finance supports both people and the planet.

We read an interesting post today and learned something inspiring.🌱
What if every birthday we planted or donated just one tree? 🎂🌳
Imagine the impact how many trees would you leave for future generations?
The good news: you can start at your next birthday. It’s never too late to make a difference.
How many trees do you think you could leave behind?

🌊 After Puerto Rico’s devastating hurricanes in 2017, researchers found that communities near coral reefs experienced less destruction. Now, federal investments in reef restoration are on the rise, recognizing reefs as natural barriers that protect coastal communities from storm surges. Protecting coral reefs not only saves lives but also reduces disaster recovery costs. 🌍

Traditional #NatureProtection has failed us.

There is good work done by a lot of orgs and movements like XR but results are just not there. Meaning political and economical change has not happened.

What to do then? There has been thoughts brewing in my mind about utilizing technology to enable very easy and low threshold nature activism by any citizen. To report nature crimes, help agencies in protecting nature etc.

Surely someone has thought about this already? Comments, links please?
