  2. ‘Into the Wild’: A meta-synthesis of talking therapy in natural outdoor spaces

This Meta-synthesis highlights the benefits of holding therapy sessions in #nature, which can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance emotional well-being. While outdoor therapy offers unique advantages, such as greater openness and connection with nature, it also requires careful consideration of client suitability and professional training.

    "Summary:

This article explores the benefits of conducting talking therapy in natural outdoor settings, which can reduce stress and improve mood. By integrating therapy with nature, practitioners enhance emotional well-being and encourage open expression. A review of 38 studies involving 322 practitioners and 163 clients outlines best practices and techniques.

Outdoor therapy ranges from using nature as a calming backdrop to actively incorporating the environment into sessions. While challenges like client suitability and professional training exist, the study highlights its growing potential in mental health care. However, a few limitations were identified such as potential distractions, lack of privacy, and lack of control around weather conditions."
