  3. “The richness of Donnchadh Bàn’s language becomes a metaphor for the richness of nature... The poem is a song & the music itself becomes a metaphor for the co-existence of different forms of life”

  5. “MacBeth out-Hughes’ Hughes here. A masterpiece of control, ‘Owl’ is stitched with the kinds of metaphor that capture the brutality of evolutionary purpose in simple, uncompromising phrases”

the mountain is half snow, half

  8. When the day-birds have settled
    in their creaking trees,
the doors of the forest open
    for the flitting
    drift of deer
    among the bright croziers
    of new ferns
    and the legible stars…

    I watched nineteen deer

  10. A black rose blooms in solitude—feared, untouched, yet breathtaking in its uniqueness. 🌹✨
Sometimes, the most beautiful souls are the ones standing alone, waiting for someone who sees beyond the thorns.

  11. New quick poem:

    Garden Warfare

    My neighbour gardens
    like they are at war.
    The power tools their artillery
    the weedkiller their chemical agent.
    Nature must be subdued
    all wildness controlled.
I want the Earth to shout
    what I can't
    to fight back.
    But it keeps the peace
    like I.
    It can only quietly
    resist
    by killing their brambles.
    I can only hope
    my organic words
    take root
    instead.
