You don't allow motor vehicles on trails because they're obviously too wide not to destroy them. Good luck driving down the Boy Scout Trail above the San Andreas Fault without falling off a cliff several thousand feet to your death.
Trails are sensitive habitat he wants to destroy because he is an evil, evil man.
He is also a very stupid man who is willing to destroy public amenities because he has no understanding of their value. WTF does he think millions of tourists from around the world visit our parks?
Off-road users are already the dominant use-type and the most unsustainable one. They're purely destructive.
