I used to work as an instructor for Outward Bound & Denver Public Schools taking kids out of their comfort zone & helping them strengthen their resilience, adaptivity, & cooperative skills. I sometimes wonder how much of it stuck. Judging by what I see these days, we could use more of that.

Sometimes I wake in the wee hours and cry. Partly because of my wife’s health, and partly by what our species is doing to this planet. Sometimes it is overwhelming. What gives me hope on the second part is that there are people like #NateHagens who do the deep dive into the predicament & offer realistic, doable ways we can move from apex predators to apex custodians, from clever apes to wise ones, & truly become what we claim to be.
