Los años pasan, las generaciones se suceden, y aunque sigas moviéndote y creando puede llegar a parecerle al gran público que te fuiste.

Es lógico. En parte también tranquilizador. Se sube, se baja y, si tienes suerte, te estabilizas y sigues desde ahí.

Una de las australianas más famosas a nivel internacional vive en esa medianía. Claro que hace varias cosas, como actuar. Así que es más sencillo que esto le ocurra.

Siempre me resultó curioso como tras lanzar la icónica Torn no le tembló el pulso y presentó el siguiente disco con un single oscuro, lleno de letra, con un toque asfixiante, la estupenda (y deliciosa pese a ello), That Day, por supuesto, infravalorada. Diría que su mejor canción.

Luego vinieron canciones de melodías brillantes, incluso tiernas a la vez, como Counting Down the Days, con esa melodía celestial bien asentada en su voz. Y un disco de versiones que mejor olvidar... después de pedir disculpas a Daft Punk.

Natalie Imbruglia publicará disco a final del verano y ya avanzó el tema Upside Down.

Con una onda decididamente popera, Imbruglia vuelve a la sonoridad cristalina que le queda tan a medida y a unas guitarras dosmileras de querencia posbritpop la mar de majas, mención aparte de ese teclado que remite al dreampop. Esto mientras habla de, eso que decíamos, las subidas y bajadas de la vida y lo que a veces cuesta aceptarlas y sobrellevarlas.

No siempre hay que reinventarse, explorar lo que haces bien y perseverar en ello no tiene nada de malo. Los años deberían actuar así en nosotres, ayudándonos a conocer nuestras green y red flags. Bien por ti. Estaremos atentas a próximos adelantos.
