The T-shirt arrived. I order it in my son's size, so I'm just draping it. Another season of NaNoWriMo is over. Now we edit!

Hui! 1743 Wörter heute Abend für den Roman geschrieben. Endlich mal ein guter Lauf nach so langer Durststrecke. Beim #NaNoWriMo2022 hätte ich so gerne mitgemacht, aber in Kombination mit dem Schulstress war da zu viel Druck.

#WritingWonders day 1 - My WIP

I'm continuing my #NaNoWriMo2022 draft with a lot less intensity than last month. An untitled #SolarPunk story set in post-crisis era around the year 2121. Written from the POV of 5 friends.

I'm painting a picture of a future worth building. I want to show what regular life feels like in a world where we finally took the #ClimateCrisis seriously and rallied together to save all we can.

Anyone else in the "what now?" Post #NaNoWriMo2022 slump?

Logically and obviously the answers are "take a rest, you've earned it" followed by "then keep writing, you've got the habit now!"

For inexplicable reasons, neither of these answers satisfy my brain.

NaNoWriMo has ended in its usual way. I didn't make it to 50k. I discovered something new to enhance my flow. This was my fourth year, straight. Which is why I keep doing it.

My first cat book was well received and I've been working on a second one since. There's been a LOT going on, of course.🤣🙏

As a #Spoonie Writer (are you a #SpoonieWriter? let's find each other) I am only somewhat functional at times. Yet I can write a good cat advice post even so. Especially when I go over it later to polish it and make my ideas clear. I have spent my entire adult life learning the subject. My blog posts have a set structure for SEO and customized for my purposes. I have templates to work in.

But not with fiction. Dictation didn't work for nonfiction. But it's doing wonders for me with my fiction.

Das war mein #NaNoWriMo2022.
21.034 Wörter, 30 Tage lang jeden Tag geschrieben.

133.377 Wörter insgesamt in den NaNos 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2021 und 2022.

Gerade finde ich es traurig, dass ich zwischendrin 5 Jahre ausgesetzt habe.

Damit ich / wir weiterhin täglich dabei bleiben, hat @abuerkl die Gruppe @schreibmotivation gegründet.
Ich schreibe dann jetzt mal wenigstens 20 Minuten.

I almost made it through 3 chapters each per tri-tagonist! If I hadn't been away and busy for 12 days this month, I'm sure I could've had that 9th chap!

@bethanycarter I usually don’t set deadlines, but various things spur me on. For example, watching #NanoWriMo2022 this year made me compile my WIP to see how many words I had: over 22,000. But that’s about 1/3 of what this book will take. The best motivation is a dedicated residency. Onward.

#Nanowrimo2022 comes to an end. That was satisfying. I have written 90,000 words of people yelling “You can’t handle the truth!” at each other.

I will finish this one in the fullness of time. First off, I might organise my thinking a little better…

#NaNoWriMo2022 at 46850 words. I gave up on a full novel half way realizing that I cant just pants through 50k words of story at this speed. I need more time for my brain to sort the story out.

About 14k is therapeutic journaling/ranting, good complement to my actual #therapy. Plus two rough blog drafts and the start of a research plan. On top the 30k of story and background information.

Huge improvement to the past year of writing almost nothing. I've been creating something daily. #AmWriting

Well guess what! I got my 50,000+ word novel 1st draft written in November. Whoopee.

Just started editing my #NanoWriMo2022 novel. First chapter needed a couple of brand new paragraphs and changes but it wasn't as horrible as I expected (bad memories from editing my first novel).

Did not do an update of the progress chart yesterday, because I wrote late into the evening. The final chapter needs a few more scenes, but I'm still flashed I made it past the #NaNoWriMo goal. #NaNoWriMo22 #NaNoWriMo2022

7 years in a row! Took me a while to find my story, so it found me.

Garrison Graham, a boy with leukemia, has his entire world shaken when his dad dies in an car crash that he thinks wasn't an accident.

As you might expect from a story about illness and death, there's a lot of sad but there are also unexpected moments of humor and joy and life. As is inevitable in everything I write, there's also mystery, surprise, and magic.

#NaNoWriMo 🌟 Final Day : +2443 words. On this 22nd day, I am proud to say that I have finished my Novella! It was challenging to make and follow my first outline but I made it. I like most of the result, except some broken chapters that will require some work. My plan is to edit in January with fresh eyes, for an eventual self-release in March. Thanks to everybody who has helped me with cheers, advice and research. I am glad to have found a supporting community! 🧡

If I could reliably draw a proper line, I might be dangerous. Maybe.

Today's postcard is the house. It's done, but tomorrow's is just partially done (the 'brain-on-a-jar' is a purple cabbage and still needs a colorwash...

I had wanted the house postcard to look like a blasé architectural drawing, but the wonky lines make it appear weirdly distorted which may be better, with the planned themed progression.
