hm, according to https://pepy.tech/projects/snakemake-report-plugin-nanopub?timeRange=threeMonths&category=version&includeCIDownloads=true&granularity=weekly&viewType=line&versions=Total%2C0.* there are more than 1.5 thousand downloads. Over all versions and all CI downloads - but I have not been releasing and testing that much. Only installed once or twice with PyPI. And there are hardly any #nanopublications made with this plugin (yet). So, what is this figure telling me?

On the way to #PSE8 this morning, I saw a Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) and recorded it as an observation on #inaturalist . This could be seen as an assertion of the type <observer><observed><bird>
<timestamp><location><observation identifier>, much like in #nanopublications. -

Lots of laughter, old friends, new faces: our annual symposium brought about 90 people from different career stages, disciplines and roles in the #academic system together. We discussed the differences between #quality assurance and policing #research practices, learned about galaxy and #nanopublications, and caught up with #reproducibility related projects.

having done this for about 5 years, without funding, I am happy I did. We have a critical mass of annotations and I know it will continue to grow in the next 12 months (e.g. waiting for a right moment to create a dataset with another 1000 annotations).

I just created a first CiTO intention annotation with #nanopublications with this new template. Small learning curve and I think I will propose a #FAIRCookBook recipe for this, to make narratives more FAIR.
And I'm exploring how to best cite these kind of nanopublicatsion in @wikidata where I am aggregating CiTO citation intentions

@egonw @brembs If all scientific annotation information is in one place, we have another monopoly that needs to be maintained and guarded. Instead, it would be better if that kind of annotation would be scattered but following consistent standards. Like #activitypub. Or #nanopublications
I also couldn’t care less about the number of #preprint repositories, as long as they all are #FAIR. Ingenious minds can index them.
