I enjoyed this #TEDTalk by Hannah Gadsby. I've enjoyed her Netflix series #Nanette & #Douglas so wasn't too surprised that her "Three ideas. Three contradictions. Or not." was something I would enjoy. I do love her exploration with her own #neurodiversity and how she is able to connect. Thanks again for connecting us with your stories.

A few months ago my wife and I watched the Hannah Gadsby comedy special "Nanette". In it, there is a bit about Pride and parades and parties and all that.
Gadsby says: "Where are the quiet gays supposed to go? The pressure on my people to express our identity and pride through the metaphor of party is very intense. Don't get me wrong. I love the spectacle. I really do but I've never felt compelled to get amongst it. Do you know? I'm a quiet soul. My favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of a teacup finding its place... on a saucer."
No particular reason to mention that, except that this is the view in front of me right now.

Today I rewatched #HannahGadsby's #Nanette and #Douglas. I really liked them on first watching - which was before I started to realise I am #autistic - but I got a LOT more out of them this time. I've experienced this enhanced enjoyment/understanding/appreciation with a few things now. I like to think of it as a little #neurodivergent bonus.

There is something so spectacular about watching the standup career of #HannahGadsby unfold. #Nanette was as much her magnum opus as it was reinventing comedy. Seeing her new #BodyOfWork is not about hoping to get what I already got. It’s satisfying the curiosity I have about what else she can bring to the table. Tonight, she brought a ton, including an (at least I’m telling myself) unwitting Dutch language joke that gave me goosebumps. Partied with cool lesbians afterwards so everybody wins.
