#Nahuatl speakers still exist. Around 1.7 million people in #Mexico speak a modern variety of #Nahuatl, with most speakers living in central Mexico. However, Nahuatl is not one completely uniform language today: it consists of several regional varieties, and modern varieties are not identical to the Classical Nahuatl spoken in the Valley of Mexico during the #Aztec period.
