Nagykovácsi, 1934. Six young peasant children stand on a bridge in the small village of Nagykovácsi, 15 kilometres from Budapest. I always wonder what happened to the people in these photos: depression, war, revolution, and communism, certainly for these children. For the girls in particular, a hard life of toil. You would see them 50 years later, aged and tired, dressed essentially the same, but without so many smiles.
