  6. Picked up the #MythicGME stand alone RPG aka “Mythic Redbook” and have been stupid happy with it the last couple weeks. Like, to the point I’m trying not to call all my gamer friends up and tell them I found THE ONE game.. although I will say it’s in the contention for being my “desert island game”.

Look, I love percentiles, and I also dig “adjective ladder” games like FUDGE (and FATE by extension). I like that instead of flat values in this system, you have a rank and you compare it to another rank *and then* you come up with a percentage odds for your roll.

I’ve also found myself enjoying the Mythic logic of framing every roll as a Yes/No question (with Exceptional results possible). The logic here is EXACTLY what I want not just for solo play but moderating at a table.

Meanwhile, I’ve been enjoying playing using the Mythic app, some notes and my own dice when I get some downtime.

  9. I've played a few solo sessions of a new campaign of #DeltaGreen using #MythicGME and I am quite impressed. I can see how these rules can easily be used with any RPG system.
What I liked the most is that before a new scene, you set your expectations and then roll to see if things happen as expected, and if they don't, HOW they change. A really smart idea.

  12. Can we #SoloRPG people just take a moment to thank @TanaPigeonWMG for basically creating (or at least formalizing in published writing) the concept of playing any #TTRPG alone? When she released the #MythicGME many, many years ago she spawned this onderful hobby for so many of us.

Our hobby would be nothing like what it is today without her hard work. So thank you Tana for all the joy and emotional moments you've helped us create!

  23. Just becoming enamored of #mazerats and wondering if anyone has run it solo? What worked, what didn't? I'm thinking of using #mythicgme for the oracle. Trying to wrap my head around the lite rules. Loving what I see, though I'm tempted to run #shadowdark as my system because that's my jam. #solorpg

  28. After receiving some feedback on my #PathFinder sessions, I've come to realize that they are too predictable, or at least, not enough unexpected things happening. So I need to work on that.

What I think I need to do is create some sort of "twist generator". Something that I can use to force myself out of my ordinary, predictable thinking. Somethink like #MythicGME's Action/Focus (read: Verb/Noun) tables could work, but I wouldn't mind something a bit more complex.

  38. @sinituulia Any system (or not at all) using #MythicGME. I recently ran a little solo campaign whereby I rolled randomly to select a figure, then used #MythicGME to determine everything about them. I did it all at once, but there's no reason to not wait until skills, background, and such are needed to determine what they are.

  42. I am running a #solorpg using #mythicgme based in, for mostly random reason, Angola in 1984. Having a protagonist in such a country is quite a perspective shift, plus I have found some of the most beautiful music: youtu.be/k-_EOQMRP94
