A simple closing and reopening it in a new tab consumes 32 MiB (!!!) of traffic. I imagine that opening it once a week, as I do is even more demanding.

Today in Things That Don’t Really Matter:

This video is pretty insufferable but I persevered because the “putty-lookin’-ass whip” phenomenon has been vexing me for some little while and I couldn’t put my finger on why.

The tl;dr is that they don’t put metal flake in these newer auto paints, so the cars don’t sparkle no more and look sort of dead. Weird that until now I never even noticed that metallic paint was the norm in the first place.

I’m not against these lifeless, putty-lookin paint jobs; cars are so gross that they deserve to not sparkle.
