ooooooh, there's a 4k remaster of The Hitcher out in 2 weeks.

Loved this movie, I remember seeing it in the cinema as a young teenager... younger than the 18 rating at the time.

I remember the chills it gave me, how there's virtually no violence in the entire movie. It's left up to your imagination every time.

I think that's what helps makes it one of the most perfect thriller movies ever made... at least for my generation.

The casting of Rutger Hauer as the hitcher was perfect. I once read that Terance Stamp was offered the role and turned it down... and a few years later admitted he'd made a mistake not doing it.

I had the original on VHS, I have it on DVD... I may grab a 4k one for my collection. My brother in law can have my DVD if he doesn't already have it.
