Day 25: Favorite romance of 2023?
Since it has to be this year, I'll choose #MyLovelyLiar
This was a very fun joint currently airing watch. The ending of the mystery was problematic but I was really rooting for these 2 isolated leads to fully connect with each other and that happened. -

Typically if a drama is disappointing I quit watching it and this happens quite often.
Otherwise it's just being disappointed by the end. The more I like a drama, the more I get affected by a bad ending.#HotelDelLuna got extremely boring in last episodes. And the culprit's behavior in #MyLovelyLiar does not make any sense.
#NowWeAreBreakingUp leaves a bitter aftertaste because culturally I can't understand it. -
I at first thought the ML was a little stiff, but as I saw more of his acting, I realized he was playing it that way on purpose - someone who was supposed to be in hiding, traumatized by past events. He slowly melts into a human. At first the conveyance of emotions is small, a glance, a slight turn, but as his character grows, so does his portrayal of emotion.
I see this in “Destined With You” also. It’s fun to go back and watch and pick up those tiny movements I missed because I was reading the subtitles.

Many male actors playing cold characters get a bad rap. Good ones can play cold with subtlety to convey underlying feelings without losing that mask. Hwang Min Hyun really did this well. Kim So Hyun was also very good in her role.
Watching this with a watch party group was so fun as we shared & analyzed our many, many theories on who did what & how things would end up. Every episode had a lot of clues. The show kept us guessing! The side stories were varied. The wardrobe choices were fun! It will be a future rewatch!

Overall it's a nice story with well unfolded plot twists though the end is a bit too fairytalish imho.

Isn’t “My Lovely Liar” just lovely?! First time I’ve watched a currently airing drama. Otherwise, I’m sure this would have been a binge.

#DoomAtYourService is a great choice. There's some overlap with the themes in Goblin but it's very unique in many ways.
I prefer to watch only one series at a time, along with the #watchparty but I'm getting stuck in multiples at the same time! I have one more episode of #Goblin to rewatch and then move on to the one I'll miss on Sunday.
I have to rewatch and wait for the next #MyLovelyLiar shows.
I've watched one episode of #DP and will probably take that slowly because it's heavy. -
