I should probably add a thing most people don’t know about almond milk etc:
The brand of non-dairy milk is vital, almost more important than the beans (outside the USA, anyway). The difference between “barista” milk and any other variety, is really huge when it comes to #soy, #almond, #oat, #macadamia, etc etc etc.
You need the right consistency and levels of sugars, etc., and any coffee shop who doesn’t know this will cheapskate on the USD$3+ per litre prices of this expensive stuff.

just to illustrate how ridiculous it is that #mylk companies need to call their milk-alternatives “oat drink” or such, here is one 14th century cookbook[1] that explicitly makes mention of “almaund mylke” used in a recipe for “ryse of flesh” 📖
> Take Ryse and waishe hem clene. and do hem in erthen pot with gode
broth and lat hem seeþ wel. afterward take Almaund mylke [2] and do þer to. and colour it wiþ safroun an salt, an messe forth.the Wikipedia page for almond milk[2] cites just as much in the history section.
it just goes to how much lobbying power meat and dairy companies have, all while playing the victim of the “woke left mob” 🙄
