Did you know that #Encyclia's “Sign in with ORCID” function (see https://encyclia.pub) can work without cookies?
During a sign-in attempt, it tries to set a session cookie and relies on that if it works. If setting a cookie fails – that is, if you have cookies completely disabled – it falls back to a session ID URL parameter, like in the old days of the web.
We take privacy-first web development so seriously that it wraps back around to being kinda silly. 🤭
