2/ Here is a video about #MyChart from Cleveland Clinic and how they use it
During a hospital stay, MyChart manages everything from medications you may get from the doctors to you ordering your meals...

tl;dr MyChart email phishing emails. Several of my catch-all email addresses, email addresses that are not linked to any account and comes to a central email account, are starting to get a lot "MyChart" phishing emails. These email addresses are not used for any MyChart accounts.
#MyChart is used by many hospitals and doctor offices/clinics in the US to manage their practices and offer users/patients their EMR (Electronic Medical Records), appointments, insurance info, etc.
Researching "mychart phishing email", in the past few days, it appears hospital after hospital are publishing news releases that phishing emails are going out.
The video below is from two days ago
second post in thread is a short video demo from Cleveland Clinic on what MyChart is.

#TechIsShitDispatch
When I go to log into the #NYULangone #Epic #MyChart page to help my uncle manage his healthcare, it claims I can't use MyChart from outside the country.
This is apparently a lie, since I'm currently in Australia and I was able to log in just fine and use the site.
Two shitty things here: (1) coarse geographic exclusions ("in the US" vs "not in the US") are excessive and unjustifiable; and (2) regardless, they shouldn't say they're enforcing things they're not. -

Over six months ago I got a cortisone injection in my hip. It caused my blood pressure to dramatically increase for several days. I spoke with my PCP about it and she prescribed a blood pressure medication for me to take prophylactically before the next injection. I never got another injection, so I've never filled that prescription or taken the medication.

All I want to do is check in for my doctors appointment! Using VoiceOver, how the hell are you supposed to sign the patient signature field? I’m referring, specifically, to the documents found in the #MyChart app. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

The nyu #mychart #biometrics #amazon thing is so scummy. You show up for a doctor appt, you try to check in at a kiosk.. You go through a few screens, then it asks you to sign up with no other options other than an X at the top of the screen. Clicking the X logs you out, so you're not checked in.
Apparently you need to first click the signup button, *then* you can refuse without canceling check in. A hostile UI intended to give amazon everyone's biometrics.

FYI
i stopped using the #Android #MyChart app when i found out Google uses all the background data from interactions with the app; from appointments you add to the calendar, to finding out all your doctors thru your contact book, calls & text messages; to using health related searches inside and outside the app.they still can cull all the information if you don't root & degoogle your phones; but why make it easier for them?
so yeah, fuck that. i just connect to MyChart thru the website(s).

I got a postcard in the mail from a class action lawsuit settlement administration company saying that if I used the #MyChart system between February 1st, 2017 and January 22nd, 2022, they were sending analytics data to #Facebook.
If I wanted Facebook to know my medical history, I would use Facebook. 😒

No, I am not checking in online for tomorrow's appointment today.
Not after I had to call the doctor's office and ask why my upcoming telemedicine appointment had vanished from MyChart.
They fixed that, but I'm not touching the appointment until tomorrow afternoon, when I'm at my laptop waiting to talk to my doctor.
I need this appointment to be in MyChart, because Mt. Auburn runs telemedicine appointments through MyChart.

2/ I asked the assistant of one of my docs this morning about this. The response was “We don’t pay attention to the stuff in the app. We’d rather get it from you.”
"Then what’s the point?” I asked.
“I’m not really sure” was the reply.
Makes you wonder.

Doctors & medical institutions drive me crazy these days. Most of those I see use MyChart. Typically, before a vist you need to confirm via the app ahead of time. Each confirmation requires that you enter or confirm meds you’re taking.
All well & good. But why then do you need to do the same thing once you show up for the appointment whether virtual or in person?

Learned today that Epic systems (creators of the #mychart system you probably use with your doctor) have finally decided to move to the cloud.
With #Google
Yup, you read that right.

Cleveland Clinic is planning on charging for some MyChart messages. I recommend #mychart to patients as a direct way to communicate, especially with the mobile app (photos of wounds or rashes). I answer all of my messages (or to support an RN/MA comment). Some messages can get complicated, but it comes with the territory. Charging is pure greed. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/online-services/mychart/messaging

Patients are forced to beg gatekeepers through Epic's #MyChart portal for access to their physician, then charged $50 for the privilege.
Screw @ClevelandClinic.
-
Plus: #physicians get reimbursed for their clinical management and time
Minus: feeding the #healthcarecost beast w disproportional impact on #uninsured/#underinsured
-
Wow. @ClevelandClinic making the move to bill insurance for #MyChart messages that involve changes to care or other medical decision making.
Hoping this is a trend that catches on. Non-visit communications can be significant time sinks!
