I saw the Batman Hoverfly today. Thought it was a honeybee in the shed looking for something dusty to collect and pass off as pollen but it was the big hoverfly.

Myathropa florea is a very common species of #hoverfly in Europe and North Africa. It is about 12 mm long. The larvae develop in puddles and muddy water.
