Saturday, I posted Radio Jay Allen's review of the LITEMALADSP/MALAHITEAM MLite-880 portable software defined radio. I hear that because of its complex menu structure with multiple pages, it may not work well as a receiver for a blind person. I posted something on X about this, asking if there were people who are blind using SDR radios, but got no response.
This portable sounds really neat with adjustable noise blanker, good FM with multiple band width selections and SSB for SW.
If I find anything else about this, or any other SDR, I'll post here.

In the end I did hear Farsi talk on 837 a bit later, just as weak as the CNR5 snippet below... MWLIST also lists them from a small, 10kW relay in Khur. Offset I measured is 836.9996, really likely .9992 - doesn't match the .996 one listed for Esfahan/Habibabad 400kW unit! #mediumwave #mwdx #Iran

837 kHz: uh oh, I didn't expect to hear Chinese songs in #aurora 😳 Yet that's CNR5 Cross-Strait Radio, 1000kW @ 8214km... IRIB Radio Esfahan is missing or very low power #mediumwave #mwdx

864 kHz: looks like IRIB Radio Kermanshah had slipped off-freq to 863.8442 and likely also boosted its power, surely in an effort to jam co-channel Iran International via Gavar🇦🇲 (and the Quran station from Egypt). #mediumwave #mwdx #Iran #IranWar #jamming

#MWDX the station on 1710 kHz identified as the community radio network broadcasting on 87.9 MHz and 1710 kHz. At the top of the hour, it did beep signals until 9 PM. Then it said and now our national anthem, played the Star-Spangled Banner and signed off. So I don't know where the station came from.

Spain's RNE is to close all of it's 107 AM transmitters on 32 frequencies. This is great news for dxers in Western Europe because RNE is broadcast on so many medium wave channels it's hard to pick out any dx signals at night. "RNE and Radio 5 operate on approximately 32 different AM frequencies across Spain, according to the 2025 World Radio TV Handbook.

"The following announcement started airing on RNE on Nov. 14. The voice of Pepa Fernández, the director of its weekend morning program, “No es un día cualquiera,” was heard on the MW RNE network, according to a recording provided by Jorge Garzón on the Medium Wave Info blog."

#FMDX #MWDX #SWL The XHData D808 arrived last night and here are some quick first impressions.
FM: Typical DSP portable with good sensitivity and selectivity. With all the hype of its FM, I expected better. The Qudosen DX286 destroys it on FM. Better selectivity with its adjustable filters and the car DX286 chip makes it way more sensitive.
MW: D808 is a typical DSP portable. It's quite sensitive for its size, but if you have a really strong MW station, the radio's sensitivity decreases the closer you tune to the strong station. If I lived elsewhere, I'd really like its MW performance.
SW: Seems sensitive with full coverage to 30MHZ. It's a bit slow to activate SSB, but fine tuning works well with tuning knob and fine tuning dial.
Air band: I have to do more checking.
LW: same as air.
Ergonomics: Thumbs down. Frequency button is on the bottom to the left of 0. There's a row of buttons, same size above the numpad.
It's a keeper. I want a full coverage portable with SSB capability.

#MWDX I thought for sure that WFME 1560 New York had signed off the air. Tonight, I got a top of the hour ID from them mentioning call letters, frequency and an FM translator, as well as familyradio.org. Signal was better here than when I last heard them, but NYC MW is booming in here tonight. Even with KDKA on 1020, WINS on 1010 is strong enough that it's clear with no co-channel splash.

#MWDX if you are still so inclined to hear AM HD radio, WPHTAM 1210 Philadelphia still is broadcasting in hybrid digital. The signal is strong enough here in Pittsburgh tonight that I can hear it in HD. I'm not aware of any other 50 KW stations that broadcast HD anymore.

#MWDX wow, I can't believe this.AM 900 CHML is no more. The station signed off this afternoon due to the company's losing revenue. This station had been on the air since 1927.
