Quick and dirty portable meshcore repeater test. Muzi Works #H2T up in the air with an Explorer #POTA33 mast in an old heavy umbrella stand.

Didn’t want to be near the building but I needed a wind break. Mixed results, but things that could be easily improved. Probably a minimal but powerful HeltecV4/18650 battery kind of thing.

I had been waiting eagerly for these nodes to get back in stock at #Muziworks

The #SenseCAP Tracker T1000-E seems to do it all. A very impressive built-in antenna, GPS, temperature sensors, beeper speaker etc.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's an older firmware so I'm going to have to upgrade them before I get to play around with them.

Okay, today I received a proper Heltec T114 for 433 MHz - the frequency that - as it turned out - is being used here in Ukraine for #meshtastic.

I opened my #MuziWorks H2T and just swapped the board inside - no big deal. But I noticed two things:
1. There are indeed differences on the PCB (check photo)
2. The new 433 MHz board works with Siretta Delta12X antenna seemingly well while the 868 MHz board didn't really. Surprisingly I got way better results with a cheap Chinese antenna 🤷‍♂️

Ok, I’m about to get my first #meshtastic device. Choosing one from #muziworks: either an R1 with external antenna or H2T (also with an external antenna and GPS).

Will be using it for fun and if need be - for communication in case of blackouts. Also will definitely take it on hikes.

Which one should I get?

I have a #Meshtastic #Muziworks H2T, but I'd like to have some sort of base station. What are good options there?

I already have a Pi running ADSB, with an outdoor antenna mount.

Finally decided to dip my toes into the world of #meshtastic.

To start out with I decided to order a pre built #heltec h2t & R1 #MuziWorks.

The R1 took a bit more to get set up and works great but I feel the h2t is the better deal with it's built in screen and GPS for only $10 more.

I have mine set up and it's discovered lots of other nodes but I'm still a bit confused about some things.

Is there a good in-depth FAQ or video that anyone wants to suggest?

I've been driving around a lot recently with my #meshtastic H2T from #MuziWorks and it has found lots of cool nodes/clients/etc. across #Columbus !

I've received a few messages in the Long/Fast channel, nothing specific to me and I've sent a few out into the ether!

@stickus Might need a bigger antenna? I have both the the H1 and R1 from #muziworks. Th H1 has the whip antenna and I can reach people in my area just fine but the R1 almost never sees any other nodes.

I picked up a second #meshtastic client, this time one that came with a case lol

this time I went with a #muziworks #H2T and so far it seems to be working pretty well!

I'll share updates as I explore/play with it!
