(1/4) L'autre jour, au restaurant, les haut-parleurs diffusaient une sélection agréable de morceaux de soul-funk. Mais au bout d'un moment, je sens qu’il y a quelque chose qui cloche: les arrangements varient peu, les compos sont très homogènes, et les morceaux (courts) finissent systématiquement en queue de poisson.

De quoi me dire: il y a AI sous roche.

Nothing ominous about hearing music from #TheOmegaMan (1971) playing over the local grocery store's loudspeakers... The tune in particular was "The Theme from 'A Summer Place' by Percy Faith. It's used in the Omega Man movie in a scene when Neville (played by Charleston Heston) is attempting to relax in his penthouse apartment, while outside, survivors of a "vampire plague" chant his name and laugh at him, holding burning torches.

Bin ich der Einzige den das komplett *nervt*, auch wenn der Content noch zu verstehen ist?
Sehe einfach null Sinn darin.

Some people are saying #muzak lives on as #smoothjazz. Not all smooth jazz, mind you - just enough to make you want to never get in an elevator ever again.

I'm so old I remember #Muzak in the elevators at work. Hell, did you know they released some of that annoyingly calming shit on #vinyl? I know, because I have several discs.

I understand the criticism against #Spotify for providing playlists with bland faceless background #muzak that they don't have to pay royalty for. But I don't understand the user behaviour that enables this scheme, where people ever dial up background muzak from Spotify. My main way of using the service is to listen randomly to my 1500 favourite non-bland non-faceless songs.
