The capitalist system manipulates us into thinking that our worth is tied to 💵, and it makes us feel ashamed to give a small amount, especially anything < $10. But I think we’ve misunderstood what “any amount helps” really means in mutual aid.
I’m reflecting on this now, both as someone currently needing support and as someone who has given it. There was a time I gave just $3 because that was all I could spare.
Just putting this out there as a reminder to myself and to anyone who needs it.
