The price argument against #EVs is quickly evaporating. We have affordable and fun #cars like the #Renault 5 and #Hyundai #Inster, we have manufacturers selling their electric vans for the same price as ICE. The #Kia #PV5 is challenging all in the compact van space, regardless of power source. And I just noticed that the cheapest crew cab #pickup in Finland, regardless of power source, is the #KGM #Musso #EV.

Now part of that is high taxes on ICE versions, but even before tax, prices are close.

For those always raining hate on the #Tesla #Cybertruck, I’d like to point out that the new #Toyota #Hilux #EV is rubbish in comparison, in every single way. The #Isuzu #DMax is no better. Even the much more affordable #KGM #Musso outclasses them for most things.

So while I realise there’s probably a certain herd fun to laughing at the stainless steel beast, it quite simply is the best of its class, by quite a margin, bar perhaps Rivian.

I say that as someone who despises of Elon’s antics.

Today @joonakallio and I did short test drives of the #Renault 4 and #KGM #Musso #EV pickup truck. Feel free to ask questions. The KGM felt chunky and quite nice, though the UI was confusing. The worst feature was that in normal (‘Eco’ — there was only Eco & Sport) mode the #car would shut power completely and go into regen if you accelerated hard! A super scary safety hazard. Imagine accelerating hard to get away from a side collision, or to overtake or merge rapidly! It was frankly shocking.
