Going to post vacation pics little bit later today. It’s 9:45 AM in Japan.
But quick brief bit: While other countries has condemned X and Musk, in Japan, it’s quite the opposite. They trust X as the source of info, and in fact, major advertisers in Japan still advertise on X including subsidiaries.
Unfortunately for dictator Musk, ad revenue from Japan won’t even cover a fraction of lost ad revenue X lost since he took over and went mental.
My point is simple in the end: do you want to stay in the same old site knowing that it is run by dictctator that doesn’t give a shit about morals and the site is dying and probably won’t exist by next year and is now filled with toxic trolls, or do you want to move on and do something exciting?
You choose.
That’s my advice to student athletes and athletes in general.

ESPN did a bold move today and not posted anything from insane college football Saturday yesterday on X. And instead focused on other social like Threads, Instagram or other.
And so far, gotten just about same amount of engagement there also.
You don’t need a Twitter/X account to maintain your brand as athlete/student athlete. You can do it elsewhere.
Ask yourself: do you want your brand to be associated with antisemite?
With that being said, here’s a sports aspect of this:
Athletes, and especially student athletes in college (particularly those with NIL), here’s an advice.
Deactivate X or Twitter account now. Keeping that account is going to ruin your reputation in long run. Do what other advertisers did, (like Apple or Disney or IBM) and leave the site.
There’s other social like Instagram, or Threads or YouTube where you can show your social presence.
Tesla shareholders are very angry as well at Musk and is asking him to step down or sell his share. Musk will respond in kind by taking company private and shutting out shareholders.
He’s a dictator. He doesn’t care what other think about him. It’s all about him and him only and his agenda.
Honestly I hate to say this but I don’t see that site surviving all of 2024.

So here’s the thing:
I decided to “pause” on posting on X until further notice. But at this point, it might become permanent.
I said on announcement there that Musk needs to grow up and learn that free speech is not consequence free, and consequences for free speech is ALSO free speech.
But will he ever learn? Nope. Hate to say it but government intervention, either by IRS or Justice Department is the only of saving that site.
So “Twitter” is now officially, “X” on iOS device.
BUT, on App Store listing, it’s still listed as Twitter because Apple doesn’t allow One Letter app names to be listed. But once installed it’s just X.
If I recall, installed app name CANNOT BE DIFFERENT from app listing on App Store.
So at this point, Musk is daring Phil Schiller to remove the app from App Store. Which he might.
Well, he was NOT joking apparently. Dictator Musk changed the company formally known as Twitter to “X”.
That’s right. It’s now called “X”
This is going to sink the website faster.
It’s Wimbledon final, and the crappy bird site is acting up again……
This is why I never pay for product that is unstable…… .
(And right on time for those on the crappy bird site. It’s acting up again. Probably dictator Musk changed something or forgot to pay his bill again)
On side note, unfortunately Dictator Musk’s API pricing has unfortunately killed off ALL cross posters as of July 4.
With that being said, Mastodon will be prioritized. You will get all the post first right away.
Can’t believe just one guy managed to DESTROY DECADES OF WORK in matter of 6 months.
Either way, Fediverse like Mastodon or invite only site like BlueSky has very much potential and it's time to make the transition

Time to ditch the bird and move to another site. It's clear Dictator Musk isn't listening to us users and just using this site for his own interest.

Apparently, this is not only what he demanded.
What I heard from industrial chatter mill, Musk even ordered his account to be “unblockable” meaning if user tried to block him, it’ll be met with an error message saying he can’t be blocked.
And anyone users who blocked him, well, they’ll find that he has been unblocked.
Thankfully, legal told him that’s lawsuit waiting to happen.

Looks like things may be getting desperate for Musk and his cronies running the crappy bird site.
I haven’t sent a single post on the bird site today via cross post and this is the error message I am getting.
It seems he’s getting ready to put limit on how much free users can post, and force people to use Blue.
Well, things are going from Bad to WORSE on Twitter under Musk and he’s basically doing everything to just shut it down and write it off on tax.
Latest move: making APIs paid.
He already destroyed third party client apps with policy change, and now, he’s trying to kill any of the small projects that uses APIs.
At this point, Twitter is sinking faster than ever.

This was the first Twitter app I used also when it was released back in the day, and boy it was super polished.
It’s sad when this is the only solution. I hope they consider making a Mastodon client, that has massive potential.

It’s official: Twitter has banned ALL Third Party client apps.
All I can say is, have fun dealing with the DOJ on this one, because this is anti-trust violation waiting to happen.
@PeterR I think Tapbots should do something bold: remove Tweetbot, go all in on Ivory.
From what I heard on Thursday, Musk personally ordered all companies using Twitter API for third party client to be cut off from access, because of losing ad revenue. And Musk is intentionally remaining silent because he doesn’t care what users and developers said. They plan to add new terms prohibiting use of API for running Twitter client in upcoming days.
Well, either the fediverse is overwhelmed and this is why crossposting isn’t working, OR looks like worst may have happened and Twitter is now actively blocking third party apps that allows crossposting to website.
If the latter is true, that will DEFINITELY bring anti trust regulators to investigate Twitter.
