Listening to “Jagged Little Pill” this morning for the first time in a very long time and it just feels like coming home. ❤️

(As a sidenote, I remember seeing Alanis Morissette live in what I guess must have been 2002, and how uncool it felt to go see her because she wasn’t what high school kids thought was “punk” or “tough” or “alternative”. Shout out to all the teenage girls who were pressured into thinking listening to music by women wasn’t “cool” enough, I see you 💕)

Ugh, “Screen Violence” is such a good album and I always forget that I kind of know it all by heart (even though I can probably only name like, 4 songs from it). This is what happens when a band makes an album that is consistently good from start to finish.

In the late 1990s I had a compilation cd with some badass songs on it including Something Corporate’s “Straw dog” (❤️) & a live version of Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” (first song I ever heard by PJ). Years later I heard a track by Cat Power with backing vocals by a man whose voice I recognised: It was Eddie Vedder.

I literally only just now realised how eerily similar the track names are and now I wonder if this was on purpose. Was “Good Woman” actually inspired by “Better Man”?

I'm so happy that the Cure won “best alternative album” at the Grammys.

I saw the Cure on the Bloodflowers tour, it was my first ever concert in Vienna shortly after I moved here & also the first show I went to see by myself (I felt very intimidated by all the older people wearing black!)

Robert Smith is such a rare gem of a human being & “Songs of a lost world” is such a perfect album, probably the best thing they released since “Bloodflowers” 😭 🖤
