wwell...looks like I might not get this vocal rehearsal track recorded until early tomorrow morning. Every time I've tried thus far, I've either fucked it up in some way, or it just felt forced, and I'm not gonna do something if it feels forced even if it doesn't need to be perfect. I'd rather come at it with a clearer head, and what more, an empty house. Recording vocals with folks around, unless I'm in a professional recording studio, is something I find incredibly challenging, and have therefore never really been able to do. It's disgraceful, somehow makes me look incredibly weak, and shows a complete lack of work ethic. I despise this. As a professional musician I am required to do better. At least that's my thought on the matter. I would hear yours as well. #Musicianship #Recording

Excellent gig in York last night from #Rush tribute act Moving Pictures. First-class #musicianship throughout over two and a half hours of music in two sets, the second being based on the performances from Exit Stage Left.
Highlights for me were probably Between The Wheels in Set 1, blistering renditions of Freewill, Tom Sawyer & Xanadu in Set 2, and Marathon from the encores.
Can highly recommend this experience to any Rush fans out there.

Just learned that the #90s local band Kitchen Sink’s recorded stuff was recently re-released.
I used to play bass in the band. Later Tero-Petri Suovanen (of https://limonadielohopea.com & https://tero-petri.com fame) took over. I wasn’t in the band anymore when the recordings were made… but this bassline of mine survived mostly unchanged to the recorded version:

During one session I counted *over 20 repeats* of the same 1/2 measure and he made the exact same mistake each time. Same speed. Cane a-banging.
