43 years ago today, September 3, 1983, Bandana debuted at #76 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Outside Lookin' In”. It went on to peak at #18 and spent a total of 18 weeks on the chart.

I enjoyed listening to this song on the radio and would turn it up! I was disappointed that it didn't become a Top 10 hit. But I went to my favorite record store to buy it. 🎵

41 years ago today, August 17, 1985, Exile debuted at #62 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart w/ “Hang on to Your Heart”. It went on to peak at #1 and spent a total of 24 weeks on the chart.

I'd hear their catchy 45 RPM singles on the radio! They had hit after hit from 1983-1987. I'd go to my favorite record store and buy many of their records in the 1980's.

37 years ago today, July 22, 1989, Mike & the Mechanics debuted at #48 on Billboard’s AC chart with “Nobody Knows”. It went on to peak at #41 and spent a total of 4 weeks in the AC Top 50.

This is one of several records that I rescued from being thrown away as they’d often receive duplicates at our (KYAK’s) sister station KGOT, the stations I worked for. (1987-1991)

44 years ago today, June 12, 1982, Journey entered the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart at #34 in its 4th week with “Still They Ride”. It went on to peak at #19 for three weeks and spent a total of 9 weeks in the Top 40.

This was the 4th single from the “Escape” album, the follow-up to the biggest hit of their career “Open Arms”, which peaked at #2 for six weeks.

40 years ago today, May 24, 1986, The Moody Blues entered the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart at #39 in its 6th week with “Your Wildest Dreams”. It went on to peak at #9 for two weeks and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Top 40.

The song also spent two weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart and was in that Top 40 for a total of 22 weeks.

We played this song a lot back then. It was in our hot rotation for several weeks at AM 650 KYAK, the station I used to work for (1987-1991) and had listened to since childhood.

I was watching a music video and have a #ThoughtForToday #thought - groups of 3-4 singers often appear (from my understanding) to have one more extroverted leader with others who typically play some musical instruments and/or are introverted.

I think that an introvert will be more focused on internal feelings than on social interactions... shy, less energetic, more comfortable to say less, enjoys listening to the conversation before joining it).

I am much more of an introvert around any people I communicate with - but I don't really like being around people these days because of the self-confidence I have lost through living in health care services (I have distrusting anxiety and prefer self-reliant independence).

Maybe that's why I noticed in the video. #empathy
