I've usually relied on K3b for burning data and music CDs, but it's been a few years since I looked for any alternatives.
This is probably not a task that's receiving a lot of attention these days, though maybe discontent with streaming services has encouraged people to think more about it lately.
I haven't been doing much of it myself, but my daughter asked me recently to show her how to burn music CDs* and I've been poking at it again.
Does anybody have a better suggestion for making music CDs? Only open-source applications that work on Linux need apply...
* Yes, I was very excited to show her how to do this. If I were younger and less fat, I would've done a cartwheel.

I don't post each #CD I get in, but this one I wanted to show off: just got a parcel with a bunch of #Jpop #music.
Also my first #miniCD. Must say, they're kinda cute :blobfoxheartcute:!
The best alternative to #streaming services is #owning. No licensing issues making your fav songs unavailable, no algorithms pushing whatever is making money, and only AI music if you choose it consciously.

Saw a post yesterday about how music CDs are the new vinyl -- something to be sought and collected and treasured. So today at the Friends sale outside the Main Library, I picked out this album, which is, ironically, all about finding rare albums on vinyl in second-hand stores and recording new covers of them.

Das erste Mal in wahrscheinlich Jahrzehnten habe ich wieder CDs gekauft. Die drei letzten Alben von Lucio Corsi. (Die zwei ältesten gibt es leider nicht mehr auf CD.) Wie wunderbar die sind!
Zwei von drei haben die Liedtexte im Booklet. Im dritten gibt es Texte über die Lieder und wie und wann sie entstanden sind. Und bei allen dreien gibt es eine Angabe darüber, wie viele Wörter auf der CD enthalten sind. (Und eine Hülle hat einen Riss, ganz wie damals.) Großartig! Das bekommt man nicht (oder zumindest sehr selten) bei digitalen Käufen. Das ist ein ganz anderes Erlebnis als nur die Lieder. Klar, ich kaufe sie hauptsächlich wegen der Lieder, aber diese kleinen Extras machen alles einfach etwas schöner.
