A bit late for #FungiFriday and too early for #MycoMonday, but I was out chopping up some fallen trees in the wood this morning and came across this fungus growing on a small piece of dead oak from the remaining bark, which has been laying around for several years.

Growing on a wood chip/mulched ampitheater in the woods. Gilled. Small(ish) Even the largest were under 2" across. Stem bruises brown. East Coast U.S.

A deep purple-grey mushroom, found near Kyle. Possibly a violet webcap? Possibly not. I know little about fungi and this is as far as searching "purple mushroom Scotland " has got me.... 🙂 Stood about 10 to 12cm high if anyone can offer an opinion... all I can say for certain is that I've never taken a photo of one before 🤷‍♂️🙂
