  1. Use of masked agents on #TohonoOodham land sparks Native outrage at Cherokee #DHS chief #MarkwayneMullin

by Eileen Mamaghani and Ellis Preston August 28, 2026

WASHINGTON – "The recent incursion by masked federal agents on Tohono O’odham land didn’t just anger that tribe, which has been trying to block #BorderWall construction along the remote stretch it controls in #Arizona.

"It also infuriated #NativeAmericans who had higher hopes for Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, the former Oklahoma senator who is only the second Indigenous cabinet member ever.

" 'This is especially disappointing when the DHS is headed by … a member of the #CherokeeNation,' said Angelique EagleWoman, director of the Native American Law and Sovereignty Institute at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Minnesota.

"Agents from Customs and Border Protection and the Bureau of Indian Affairs entered the Tohono O’odham Nation at 4 a.m. on Tuesday to prevent tribal authorities from blocking contractors, according to a statement issued that day by the Nation.

"Jason Nichols, like Mullin a member of the Cherokee Nation, called the incursion by masked agents a 'step backward' in federal-tribal relations – and surprising, given Mullin’s 'knowledge on the importance of #TribalSovereignty.' "

  6. Dispatch from the emerging #BorderWall #blockade camp – #LochielAZ

    by thecollective, August 22, 2026

Except: "This camp has illuminated a potential flashpoint for more widespread confrontation against the state, channeling the mounting frustrations against the Trump administration into clear targets with logistical vulnerabilities. Many are choosing to directly confront the machinery of state violence for the first time in their lives. People who spend time at camp are having transformative experiences, finding themselves more capable, courageous and driven to fight than they had previously believed.

If new initiatives continue to emerge, this could be just the beginning of a catalyzing cycle of struggle. The forces of tomorrow’s battles for liberation have an opportunity to converge, experiment, and train themselves today in the southern borderlands and at the offices and homes of complicit contractors.

"With the current situation, every single person who comes to camp ready to work makes a huge impact. Skills in tree climbing and blockades are valuable, but all the work of maintaining a camp is just as needed. Anyone who is ready to get to work and bring conviviality to camp should start making plans immediately. Small, coordinated groups would be especially valuable. Even a few days at camp can be enough time to improve infrastructure, teach new skills, broaden political horizons and offer a break to the overworked locals.

"Similarly, any efforts to expand the struggle could make big impacts. Fisher has operations in many states, and wall construction is underway or threatened all across the border, notably in #BigBendTX, where a sizable campaign against it has been building. If accessible on-ramps to confrontation continue to open up, there seem to be many people eager to step into whatever roles they can.

"For those who want to contribute to the building up of revolutionary forces, particularly if you come from anti-state and direct action backgrounds, here is a clear opening. Talk with your comrades where you live. Check in with your contacts in #Arizona. Pool your resources and send a crew or even just one person to #Lochiel as soon as you can. Find out how else you can contribute to the struggle, and take it as an opportunity to grow your own skills and invite new comrades into collaboration.

"The incredible beauty of this land cannot be understated. Grandmother is situated in a lush valley full of towering #cottonwoods and myriad wildlife. Epic lightning storms come out of nowhere. The arid climate is currently exploding with life from the generous monsoon rains. An absence of industrial noise leaves space for cicadas, coyotes, migratory birds, rustling cottonwood leaves and small cattle herds to be heard. Jaguars and ranchers alike ignore the imaginary line, casually stepping across to live freely as anyone should. Border patrol agents lurk along roadsides while white trucks and heavy machinery move workers and materials along a steep dirt road to strengthen the colonial infrastructure of severance. Amidst all of this, a handful of brave souls are hauling water jugs, rigging tarps, singing, dancing, dreaming and strategizing. You ought to come meet them."

  7. Apparently, after the #ICE agent told his ex-wife he shot #JohanSebastiánGuerrero, she doxed him to the press! Good for her!

Also, this pretty much sums up the kind of folks that ICE is hiring... "Ashley Brouillette [the ICE agent's wife] told a reporter that she wanted to speak publicly because she had previously reported concerns to his superiors in the military about #DavidBrouillette’s mental health."

ICE agent who killed man in #BiddefordME identified as former Maine law enforcement officer

An ex-wife told the Press Herald that David Brouillette called her and admitted he was the ICE agent who shot Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero.

    7/16/2026

Excerpt: "The federal immigration agent who shot and killed a 25-year-old Colombian man in Biddeford has been identified as David Michael Brouillette.

"Brouillette, who is 37 and lives in Manchester, was identified by an ex-wife as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who shot #JohanSebastiánDuránGuerrero on Monday.

"Ashley Brouillette told the Portland Press Herald in a phone interview Thursday afternoon that her ex-husband called admitting to the shooting and defending his actions. The Press Herald, the first news outlet to report David Brouillette’s identity, reviewed a screenshot of incoming calls that Ashley Brouillette said she received from her ex-husband via his current wife’s Facebook account on Wednesday.

" 'He was asking me to lie for him and to cover for his character,' Ashley Brouillette said. 'I told him that I was not going to lie for him. And then he tried to say that it was a justified shooting because the guy tried to hit him with his car.'

"She said she has seen videos of Brouillette on the scene of the shooting and told him: 'Nowhere in there does it show that this man charged at you with a car.' "

  8. Man killed by semi after fleeing from #immigration officials in #Florida

Death of unidentified 28-year-old man marks third immigration enforcement-related death in one week

    José Olivares
    Tue 14 Jul 2026

Excerpt: "A person died during an encounter with federal immigration officials on Tuesday morning in Florida, a state highway patrol spokesperson confirmed, marking the third death in one week linked to immigration enforcement operations.

"Officials with #HomelandSecurityInvestigations (#HSI), which is a component of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (#ICE), had an 'encounter' with four men in a vehicle in the parking lot of a convenience store along a busy road in #SaintAugustineFL, the highway patrol spokesperson said. As the four men fled from the agents, one of them ran into the busy road and was struck by a semi truck. The person died at the scene.

" 'The pedestrian was struck by the tractor trailer in the right lane and sustained fatal injuries on scene,' said Master Sgt Dylan Bryan, a Florida highway patrol spokesperson, in a statement. 'The tractor trailer immediately stopped and attempted to render aid to the victim.'

"Tuesday morning’s death marks the third immigration enforcement-related death in one week, as ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) face significant backlash and public outcry following two shootings in Texas and Maine respectively.

"The Florida highway patrol referred all questions to ICE. #DHS and ICE did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

"The statement did not clarify whether the person who died was the target of an arrest operation by the HSI agents.

"#BorderPatrol officials may also have been present at the scene, according to a homeland security source. An image from the scene of the crash shows a border patrol vehicle present at the site."

  9. #Protestors in #ScarboroughME call for #ICE to leave #Maine, demand action from leaders

A coalition of immigrant advocates, local leaders and concerned residents are holding an "emergency protest" after ICE agents shot and killed a Colombian man in Biddeford on Monday.

About 200 people gathered in front of the ICE facility in Scarborough a day after federal agents shot and killed a man in Biddeford.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — "A group of about 200 local activists, elected officials, community organizations and faith leaders are holding an 'emergency protest' outside the Scarborough ICE facility a day after the shooting death of a Colombian man in #BiddefordME.

"On Monday, 26-year-old #JoanSebastianGuerrero was shot and killed by ICE, leaving behind a wife, 3-year-old child, and sister.

"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says an ICE officer 'fearing for public safety' [BULLSHIT!] shot and killed the driver. It happened as agents were watching a home of someone they believed was in the country illegally and has a final order of removal from the country.

"Protestors called for the removal of all ICE agents in Maine and the release of all people detained by federal agents.

" 'The governor has to issue a proclamation, saying that ICE is not allowed in our state, and the Attorney General should direct the State Troopers to be filing criminal charges against the murderers in our community,' said @Todd , one of the organizers of the protest.

"Representatives from more than 20 organizations attended the protest including: #MaineYouthPower, Maine Small Businesses Association, Maine #DemocraticSocialists of America, the Maine #WomensLobby, #MaineCoalitionForPalestine, the #MaineGreenParty, #MainePRIDE, #MaineTransnet and the Maine #AFLCIO."

  10. This from one of my friends here in #Maine [source has been redacted] with information about the young man #ICE murdered in cold blood in #BiddefordME.

"Hello, good day. It's unbelievable that we emigrate from our country because of the insecurity, and then something like this happens. | knew and was friends with the person murdered by ICE because it was murder. He was a young worker and never did anything wrong. He just went out to work like everyone else. He left behind a wife and a 3-year-old daughter, all thanks to this racist government. It's unbelievable that this happens here. I've been living here for 5 years and | have all my papers in order. | pay taxes like everyone else. I've never made a single mistake. I'm grateful to this country and this state that has given me everything. Most of the people I've met are excellent people, so | can't explain that hatred and that deep-seated racism in their hearts. May God bless Sebastian. Much strength to his family. May God have him in his holy glory."

  11. “De Facto #Dictatorship”: Democrats Confront #ICE, #CBP Officials on Brutal Tactics

    #DemocracyNow, February 11, 2026

"House Democrats grilled the heads of ICE, CBP and USCIS at a hearing Tuesday over their role in the Trump administration’s brutal campaign to carry out #MassDeportations. 'These three directors are responsible for what we are seeing around the country, whether it’s in detention, whether it’s in the streets or even in the courts,' says Illinois Congressmember #DeliaRamirez, who is calling for her fellow Democrats to suspend funding for the Department of Homeland Security unless Republicans agree to their demands to rein in federal immigration agents. We play excerpts from Ramirez and other representatives’ remarks about the killings of U.S. citizens #ReneeGood and #AlexPretti in Minneapolis, the deaths of #immigrants in ICE custody and the fear and terror experienced by civilians confronted daily by masked federal agents. 'This is more than #authoritarianism. This is a de facto dictatorship,' says Texas Congressmember #AlGreen, who also spoke at the hearing."
