"Because he spoke out about border patrol and tribal police corruption, unarmed hereditary ceremony leader #RaymondMattia Sr was shot and killed by United States military called the border patrol along with a non-American Indian Tohono O’odham Nation Police Officer.
"Thirty-eight (38) bullets were shot at Ray, eleven (11) bullets hit his body as Ray stood unarmed in front of his house. Their brutal Excessive Force attack on a dying man is recorded in the Tucson Medical Examiners Report as blunt force trauma, his body marked by rifle butts, with cuts on his head, his nose and face, broken 12th rib and broken right arm.
"The border patrol officers, Scott Whitehouse, Dan Sifuentes and Ivan Torralva, and Tohono O’odham tribal police Cedric Randle, were not charged for killing Ray."

" 'He was asking me to lie for him and to cover for his character,' Ashley Brouillette said. 'I told him that I was not going to lie for him. And then he tried to say that it was a justified shooting because the guy tried to hit him with his car.'

WASHINGTON (AP) — "Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 10,000 people over a five-day period at the end of June, marking a major push by the agency tasked with carrying out the Trump administration’s mass deportations agenda.
"The arrest numbers, obtained from a person familiar with the information who spoke anonymously to discuss data that has not been publicly released, comes after the agency shifted its approach from high-profile arrest sweeps in major American cities to quieter ways to reach President Donald Trump’s deportation goals.
"The figures indicate that while the administration is no longer cracking down on individual cities, the arrests continue and are surging.
"The total number of arrests during the five-day period starting Friday and ending Tuesday translates into roughly 2,000 arrests per day. It was not clear where the arrests had taken place.
"The spike in arrests was first reported by The New York Times.
“Since Day One, DHS law enforcement has been delivering on President Trump’s promise to the American people to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens including murderers, rapists, pedophiles [START WITH THE WHITE HOUSE!!!], gang members [#NeoNazis?], and terrorists [Blackwater?],” said the Department of Homeland Security in a statement. 'Our message is clear: if you come to our country illegally, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you.'

It's unbelievable that we emigrate from our country because of the insecurity, and then something like this happens. | knew and was friends with the person murdered by ICE because it was murder. He was a young worker and never did anything wrong. He just went out to work like everyone else. He left behind a wife and a 3-year-old daughter, all thanks to this racist government. It's unbelievable that this happens here. I've been living here for 5 years and | have all my papers in order. | pay taxes like everyone else. I've never made a single mistake. I'm grateful to this country and this state that has given me everything. Most of the people I've met are excellent people, so | can't explain that hatred and that deep-seated racism in their hearts. May God bless Sebastian. Much strength to his family. May God have him in his holy glory."

"ICE officials said #LorenzoSalgadoAraujo, a 52-year-old Mexican national, was shot after he allegedly used his vehicle as a weapon during an enforcement operation.
"But three men who were inside the vehicle with Araujo dispute that account, saying the encounter unfolded differently and that officers were not in the path of the vehicle when shots were fired.
"The conflicting accounts have turned the shooting into another test of transparency and accountability surrounding federal immigration enforcement. The witnesses’ attorney has said their statements contradict the government’s description of the encounter, while officials have maintained that the agent acted in response to a threat, despite reports that #Araujo was not the person ICE was searching for.
"The case is also drawing attention because the witnesses themselves are now part of the immigration enforcement system. The men who were in the vehicle have disputed the official narrative while facing their own potential immigration consequences, raising questions about how investigations involving undocumented witnesses are conducted and whether those witnesses can safely participate.
"The central question now is not simply whether ICE agents had legal authority to use force. It is whether investigators and the public have access to the full picture of what happened."

"That’s according to Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, a Biddeford Democrat, who released a short statement about Monday morning’s shooting near Pool Street.
"Beyond that, Fecteau had few other details to make public, saying that the Maine State Police are at the scene gathering details. He expects the FBI to take over the investigation.
" 'These are the details that I have at this time. I will provide further updates, as they are relayed to me,' Fecteau said.
"Monday morning’s shooting is at least the 11th fatal shooting involving ICE or U.S. #BorderPatrol agents since the beginning of the second #Trump administration. That includes this month’s fatal shooting of 52-year-old #LorenzoAraujo, a construction worker, in Houston, according to the Guardian.
"Earlier this year, #Maine became the latest state to see a surge in ICE agents as part of the Trump administration’s #OperationCatchOfTheDay. That surge was cut short amid a nationwide pushback against the agency’s tactics following the fatal shootings of two protesters in #Minneapolis.
"Of the nearly 200 detained in Maine during the January ICE surge, only 11 had criminal convictions, undercutting the Trump administration’s claim that it was targeting the 'worst of the worst.' "

"Saari, a Marine Corps combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, went to the scene of #AlexPretti’s killing in #Minneapolis less than an hour after federal agents fired the fatal shots. He was wearing his Marine camouflage and carrying a lawfully owned 9mm Glock handgun on his right hip, as he does every day, he told The Intercept. Agents on the scene 'thought I was undercover,' Saari said. 'They kept asking what agency I was with.'
"When Saari told them he was not with any agency, their demeanor shifted. Federal immigration agents soon aimed M4-style rifles at his head, footage reviewed by The Intercept shows, their fingers on the trigger less than a minute’s walk away from where Pretti was killed.
'More and more #BorderPatrol and ICE agents gathered around me,' Saari said. 'Then they moved in with rifles and handguns drawn.'"The encounter raises questions about how federal agents assessed threats, used force, and made arrest decisions in the immediate aftermath of Pretti’s killing. In Saari’s case, he and his attorney told The Intercept, federal agents took scans and samples of his biometric data and made a copy of his phone — without obtaining a warrant."

"#AlexandriaLA has emerged as a key location for ICE’s activities in the state and around the country, and an investigation from The Guardian alleged a pattern of abuse and alleged due process violations at the Alexandria facility that’s operated as a deportation 'hub.'

"In Alexandria, Louisiana, ICE is moving into a building on 1201 3rd Street, located right in the city’s historic downtown center and a 16-minute drive from the Alexandria Staging Facility, where immigrants have been detained, transferred, and then deported.
"#AlexandriaLA has emerged as a key location for ICE’s activities in the state and around the country, and an investigation from The Guardian alleged a pattern of abuse and alleged due process violations at the Alexandria facility that’s operated as a deportation 'hub.'
"This is just a sampling of the dozens and dozens of lease locations in the process of being awarded to ICE in every single GSA leasing region, which spans the entire country and US territories. ICE agents and officers will share buildings with doctors, restaurants, and businesses. They’ll expand existing offices and move in with unrelated government agencies—at 801 Arch Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for example, they’ll share space with the DMV."

"After the past three weeks of brutality in Minneapolis, it should no longer be possible to say that the Trump administration seeks merely to govern this nation. It seeks to reduce us all to a state of constant fear — a fear of violence from which some people may at a given moment be spared, but from which no one will ever be truly safe. That is our new national reality. State terror has arrived."Please look at this list with me. Since early January, when Immigration and Customs Enforcement expanded its operation in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., federal officers have: killed Renee Good, a white middle-class mother; menaced a pregnant immigration lawyer in her firm’s parking lot; detained numerous U.S. citizens, including one who was dragged out of his house in his underwear; smashed in the windows of cars and detained their occupants, including a U.S. citizen who was on her way to a medical appointment at a traumatic brain injury center; set off crowd-control grenades and a tear gas container next to a car that contained six children, including a 6-month-old; swept an airport, demanding to see people’s papers and arresting more than a dozen people who were working there; detained a 5-year-old. And now they have killed another U.S. citizen, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an I.C.U. nurse with no criminal record. It seems he was white. The agents had him down on the ground, subdued, before they apparently fired at least 10 shots at point-blank range.
"Confronted with a list like this — a deluge like this — we look for details that might explain why these people were subjected to this treatment, details that might reassure us that we, by contrast, are not in danger. Good was in a relationship with a woman, and her partner, who is butch, spoke impertinently to an ICE officer, so there, Good wasn’t your average white mother after all. ChongLy Thao, the man who was dragged out of his house in his underwear, is an immigrant from Laos; he is not white, and presumably he speaks with an accent. The woman on her way to the medical appointment and the family with six kids drove through areas where anti-ICE protests were taking place. The 5-year-old child’s family doesn’t have permanent status. Little is known about Pretti at this writing, but his father said he did participate in protests and he might have been carrying a gun (legally).
"We don’t focus on these details in order to justify the federal agents’ actions, which are plainly brutal and unjustifiable; we do it to force the world to make sense, and to calm our nerves. If we don’t talk back, if we alter our routes to avoid protests, if we are lucky enough to be white, straight, natural-born Americans — or, if we are not, but we lie low, stay quiet — we will be safe. Conversely, we can choose to speak up, to go to protests, to take a risk. Either way, we tell ourselves, if we can predict the consequences, we have agency.
"But that’s not how state terror works.
In the 1990s, when I talked to people in the former Soviet Union about their families’ experiences of Stalinist terror, I was repeatedly struck by how much people seemed to know about their circumstances. Time and time again, people would tell me exactly what had led to their family members’ arrests or executions. Jealous neighbors had reported them to the authorities, or colleagues who had been arrested named them under duress. These stories had been passed on from generation to generation. How could they come to know so much, I wondered. They couldn’t. People crafted narratives out of suspicions, rumors and hints, to fill a desperate need for an explanation."

"We've been tracking the Ghost Flights, disappearing migrants, moms, asylum seekers, and others arrested in Minneapolis, who are quickly grabbed and taken away at a private terminal at Minneapolis international airport.
"The charter airlines are making it harder to track them, but here's what we found: #GlobalX, #Eastern and #Omni based in #TulsaOK, have operated most of these, with Sun Country also operating some of the flights.
"These secretive flights take those arrested to deportation hubs in isolated areas, where they are sent to prison, deported to other countries, or constantly shifted on flights. These secretive hubs are in #DadeCollier in the Florida Everglades; Alexandria in central Louisiana; and Harlingen on the Texas border.
"Those arrested are boarded shackled in chains from their wrists to their feet, and often denied water and food, and abused. While these secretive flights disappear people, their families desperately search for them.
"The flights out of #MesaAZ in the #Phoenix area are deporting hundreds on each flight to #Venezuela. A recent flight out of Mesa deported those arrested to #Russia and #Iran. The past flights show the men were immediately given #Draft notices for military service when they arrived in Russia. Protesters and political #AsylumSeekers face worse.

(I bet whoever came up with that one thought they were just so funny.) However, Susan Collins’ word is essentially Monopoly money at this point: important to the game and completely worthless in the real world.
"To me it feels like that scene in 'Willow' where the army pretends to have retreated but they’ve actually dug holes in the ground and are hiding to pop out at the most opportune moment, when the castle’s defenses are down. So, keep the whistles handy. Of course, it’s entirely possible that the #ICE weenies did get scared off by the big storm we had last weekend. After all, they’re from away.
"However, even if ICE is gone for the season, Border Patrol will still be here. And I think it’s important to talk about that. Recently, ICE has been getting all the attention for its actions in cities around America, especially, but not exclusively, Minneapolis. "Oglala Lakota President #FrankStarComesOut issued a Presidential Proclamation today banning both ICE and the U.S. Border Patrol from the Oglala Lakota Nation. The #OglalaSioux Tribal Council banned ICE, and rejected an agreement to work with immigration officials, on January 21.
"President Star Comes Out points out in the Proclamation today that the U.S. Border Patrol is working with ICE in its 'unlawful conduct against Native people in #Minneapolis' -- which is within the Aboriginal Territory of the Great Sioux Nation.
"Calling it 'egregious conduct,' the President's Proclamation states that ICE and the U.S. Border Patrol are targeting minorities throughout the United States, and Native people are being detained and injured, in violation of Treaties and civil rights."

WASHINGTON, D.C. — "U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R) announced Thursday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has ceased its 'enhanced activities' in Maine, saying the update came directly from Homeland Security Secretary #KristiNoem after 'several direct communications' between the two.
" 'While the Department of Homeland Security does not confirm law enforcement operations, I can report that Secretary Noem has informed me that ICE has ended its enhanced activities in the State of Maine,' Collins said. She added that there are 'currently no ongoing or planned large-scale ICE operations' in Maine, while ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will continue their normal, long-running enforcement activity in the state."

"This wasn’t true, as a nameless ICE official later acknowledged. '[W]e are not going to spend time providing you with each and every patch,' he emailed from an official 'ICE media' account. Covington said that ICE officials feared that The Intercept would use the patches to 'dox people,' though she also dared The Intercept to pursue the story. 'We hope that you go ahead and report,' she said. 'Go for it.'
"The Intercept compiled this set of images released by the Department of Homeland Security and open-source photographs."ICE and DHS failed to respond to numerous follow-up questions dealing with insignia and patches submitted scores of times over a period of months as well as a request to speak with an expert on ICE uniforms and adornments. CBP acknowledged receipt of The Intercept’s questions but did not respond to them prior to publication."
