Except: "This camp has illuminated a potential flashpoint for more widespread confrontation against the state, channeling the mounting frustrations against the Trump administration into clear targets with logistical vulnerabilities. Many are choosing to directly confront the machinery of state violence for the first time in their lives. People who spend time at camp are having transformative experiences, finding themselves more capable, courageous and driven to fight than they had previously believed.

If new initiatives continue to emerge, this could be just the beginning of a catalyzing cycle of struggle. The forces of tomorrow’s battles for liberation have an opportunity to converge, experiment, and train themselves today in the southern borderlands and at the offices and homes of complicit contractors.

"With the current situation, every single person who comes to camp ready to work makes a huge impact. Skills in tree climbing and blockades are valuable, but all the work of maintaining a camp is just as needed. Anyone who is ready to get to work and bring conviviality to camp should start making plans immediately. Small, coordinated groups would be especially valuable. Even a few days at camp can be enough time to improve infrastructure, teach new skills, broaden political horizons and offer a break to the overworked locals.

"Similarly, any efforts to expand the struggle could make big impacts. Fisher has operations in many states, and wall construction is underway or threatened all across the border, notably in #BigBendTX, where a sizable campaign against it has been building. If accessible on-ramps to confrontation continue to open up, there seem to be many people eager to step into whatever roles they can.

"For those who want to contribute to the building up of revolutionary forces, particularly if you come from anti-state and direct action backgrounds, here is a clear opening. Talk with your comrades where you live. Check in with your contacts in #Arizona. Pool your resources and send a crew or even just one person to #Lochiel as soon as you can. Find out how else you can contribute to the struggle, and take it as an opportunity to grow your own skills and invite new comrades into collaboration.

"The incredible beauty of this land cannot be understated. Grandmother is situated in a lush valley full of towering #cottonwoods and myriad wildlife. Epic lightning storms come out of nowhere. The arid climate is currently exploding with life from the generous monsoon rains. An absence of industrial noise leaves space for cicadas, coyotes, migratory birds, rustling cottonwood leaves and small cattle herds to be heard. Jaguars and ranchers alike ignore the imaginary line, casually stepping across to live freely as anyone should. Border patrol agents lurk along roadsides while white trucks and heavy machinery move workers and materials along a steep dirt road to strengthen the colonial infrastructure of severance. Amidst all of this, a handful of brave souls are hauling water jugs, rigging tarps, singing, dancing, dreaming and strategizing. You ought to come meet them."

LOCHIEL, Arizona -- "U.S. Border Patrol Agents swarmed the Tree Sit at Lochiel, threatening land defenders who shut down border wall construction this week in a bi-national and peaceful protest of construction of the border wall east of #NogalesAZ .

"Land Defenders said, 'Another big show of force from masked Border Patrol this morning.'

" 'We are facing extreme harassment, but we remain resilient and committed.'

" 'Camp is ongoing, and we need your support. The tree sit holds strong and will not be intimidated,' land defenders said today, Saturday, as they protect a Grandmother cottonwood tree from destruction for the border wall."

"The U.S. Border Patrol lurks awaiting its prey at the border of the #TohonoOodham Nation, near the Nation's new 'NO TRESPASSING" signs directed at border wall contractors.

"The US Border Patrol is part of Homeland Security and its plan to #seize the Nation's land for the border wall. The US #BorderPatrol already has open access to the Tohono O'odham Nation, and a #SpySystem in place to track #Oodham and watch them.

The #Israeli built #Elbit Systems spy towers track O'odham on the Nation, with live video feed. US Border Patrol agents have been arrested for murder, serial rape, assault, kidnapping, drug running and spotting for the cartels all along the border. The facts are ignored by #MainstreamMedia.

"US Border Patrol agents in this area murdered Raymond Mattia, Tohono O'odham, at his home. His body showed 11 bullets, and the wounds of rifle butts and broken bones. Raymond told #CensoredNews before he was murdered that he had video-taped US Border Patrol agents running drugs with the cartels past his home at the border. This evidence disappeared after it was submitted.

" #OpheliaRivas , Tohono O'odham, points out that the three US Border Patrol agents who murdered her lifelong friend have never been charged. A tribal police officer, a non-Indian, had a vendetta exposed in the voice evidence. He was never charged for his role leading the agents to Raymond's home where they murdered him."

A coalition of immigrant advocates, local leaders and concerned residents are holding an "emergency protest" after ICE agents shot and killed a Colombian man in Biddeford on Monday.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — "A group of about 200 local activists, elected officials, community organizations and faith leaders are holding an 'emergency protest' outside the Scarborough ICE facility a day after the shooting death of a Colombian man in #BiddefordME.

"On Monday, 26-year-old #JoanSebastianGuerrero was shot and killed by ICE, leaving behind a wife, 3-year-old child, and sister.

"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says an ICE officer 'fearing for public safety' [BULLSHIT!] shot and killed the driver. It happened as agents were watching a home of someone they believed was in the country illegally and has a final order of removal from the country.

"Protestors called for the removal of all ICE agents in Maine and the release of all people detained by federal agents.

" 'The governor has to issue a proclamation, saying that ICE is not allowed in our state, and the Attorney General should direct the State Troopers to be filing criminal charges against the murderers in our community,' said @Todd , one of the organizers of the protest.

These Patches Are Clues to Identifying #ImmigrationAgents

We built a guide to patches worn by #ICE and #CBP to help the public determine which federal agents are in their communities.

Excerpt: "Emily Covington, until recently an assistant director in ICE’s Office of Public Affairs, sent The Intercept images of 21 patches. 'I gave you all the patches,' she said.

"This wasn’t true, as a nameless ICE official later acknowledged. '[W]e are not going to spend time providing you with each and every patch,' he emailed from an official 'ICE media' account. Covington said that ICE officials feared that The Intercept would use the patches to 'dox people,' though she also dared The Intercept to pursue the story. 'We hope that you go ahead and report,' she said. 'Go for it.'

"The Intercept compiled this set of images released by the Department of Homeland Security and open-source photographs.

"ICE and DHS failed to respond to numerous follow-up questions dealing with insignia and patches submitted scores of times over a period of months as well as a request to speak with an expert on ICE uniforms and adornments. CBP acknowledged receipt of The Intercept’s questions but did not respond to them prior to publication."

"A senior Border Patrol commander and some agents are expected to leave Minneapolis as early as Tuesday, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

"The departure of Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino, who has been at the center of the #Trump administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement surge in cities nationwide, comes as President Donald Trump dispatched border czar #TomHoman to Minnesota to take charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

"The person familiar with the matter was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the operation and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.

"Bovino’s departure marks a significant public shift in federal law enforcement posture amid mounting outrage over the fatal shooting of 37-year-old ICU nurse #AlexPretti by Border Patrol agents.

"His leadership of highly visible federal crackdowns, including operations that sparked mass demonstrations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte and Minneapolis, has drawn fierce criticism from local officials, civil rights advocates and congressional Democrats.

"The Standing Rock Lakota Nation reports that a tribal member is being detained after being seized by ICE in Minnesota. Another #Lakota, Sisseton Wahpeton #Oyate, was arrested by ICE. He was located safe, but bruised. He was standing near the site where Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, was murdered by federal agents in Minneapolis on Saturday. The Sisseton tribal member was among those present who was arrested. He was released without being charged with any crime.

"Other witnesses standing near the site of the crime, the murder of Alex Pretti, say they fear for their lives, and have gone into hiding. Federal agents are reported hunting down the #witnesses to arrest them.

"A man was shot by federal law enforcement officers on Saturday in Minneapolis, and multiple reports – including a hospital record obtained by the Associated Press – indicate that he has died.

"Minneapolis officials said on Saturday morning that they were aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement officers in the city.

"The shooting comes less than three weeks after #ReneeGood, an American citizen, was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis after video showed her trying to drive away from a confrontation, sparking protests nationwide.

"City and local police officials said in their statement that the 'shooting involving federal law enforcement' occurred in the area of West 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue South – and that they are 'working to confirm additional details'."
