I, too, am sad to hear Tim Curry is gone now.
It's fair, considering his age, but of course still a real pity. We can be thankful for all the entertainment he gave us.

And while, fully understandable, most people here seem to connect him with the "Rocky Horror Picture Show", my main memories to him will always be Anatoly Cherdenko in Command & Conquer ("the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism, space!") and of course:

Captain Long John Silver, in one of the most entertaining versions of Treasure Islands.

You did the Muppets proud, Mr Curry, and will always be one of them!

After the massive success of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” (1992), Jim Henson & Co. decided to do more literary/period pieces. They settled on adapting either Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” or the legend of King Arthur

Tim Curry was a huge fan of The Muppets and actively lobbied for the role. He is on record as saying that this is his favorite role out of his entire career. He did all of his own singing.

To be honest, being pirates isn’t much of a stretch lifestyle-wise for Doctor Teeth and The Electric Mayhem

As with all great Muppet films, “Muppets Treasure Island” features a very small human cast comprised mostly of Tim Curry as Long John Silver, a young Kevin Bishop as The Cabin Boy, The Big Yin himself Billy Connolly as Billy Bones and Jennifer Saunders as Mrs. Bluveridge

They have a good point but this is also a Disney film aka home of the infamous “Bambi’s Mother” scene so… idk

“..A thing… whatever Gonzo is… He kinda looks like a Turkey ”- Kermit in “The Muppet Movie” (1979)

“…and Gonzo’s a.. uh.. uh.. whatever”- Ratso Rizzo in “Muppets Treasure Island” (1996)

I think it’s clearly establish that Gonzo is a “whatever”😂
