  1. Today was Meall Corranaich & Meall a’Choire Leith - two outliers of the Ben Lawers group - this time with friends, so that was more fun! Bit of bog and rain, but not too bad - didn’t put my waterproofs on in the end

  2. Club members walked from Glen Isla over the #Monega path to #Munro Glas Maol last Sunday (19th April). A mostly sunny day but still with a bitterly cold westerly wind (windchill well below 0C).
Still extensive snow patches, especially on the west and north flanks of Glas Maol.
Coach awaited us at the #Glenshee ski centre (use of the coach makes these through walks possible).

  4. Very clear air today as well. This is a picture of distant Ben Lomond from the summit of Innerdownie hill. Even with rubbish phone camera it makes a striking image .....I think 😳 #munro #scotland #hills #winter

  8. @sleepyfox @oldrup there was the Bollinger B1 #EV which had me really interested but that company changed direction (and prices were looking to be very steep).

#Munro in Scotland is kind of following in their footsteps (even using the same designer, I believe). But also pricey individual produced things.

  16. 📢New Publication Alert!

'#Saki (H.H. Munro): Original and Uncollected Stories' edited by Bruce Gaston is out now! Discover 13 stories, including 3 newly rediscovered, presented as originally published.

The short stories of Hector Hugh #Munro, better known by his pen name #Saki, have remained in print continuously for over a hundred years.

📚This collection is the first of its kind to present his stories as they were originally published in #newspapers and #magazines, preserving their internal consistency and contemporary references lost in revisions for 'The Chronicles of Clovis' and subsequent collected editions.

A trove of annotations and carefully sourced bibliographical information illuminates the #Edwardian context behind the thirteen selected stories, of which three (‘Mrs. Pendercoet’s Lost Identity’, ‘The Romance of Business’ and ‘The Optimist’) were only recently rediscovered.

  17. Alice Munro just passed away. She is one of my favourite authors of all time. This is a huge loss for the international literary community.

One of the things I love most about reading good literature is how it can make you see life through the perspective of someone with an entirely different experience of it than your own.

Munro was one of the first authors to make me feel this way. Through her short stories, I gained invaluable insight into the lives of women. Her depiction of the female experience awoke so much empathy and compassion in me, it is not an exaggeration to say that changed how I see the world.

She leaves behind an invaluable legacy. To anyone who loves reading, I cannot recommend her books enough. Rest in Peace.

  18. #Bollinger sues #Munro in the battle of offroad #EVs. With Munro’s head of design having previously worked for Bollinger, there is always a risk of NDA breach. However I don’t believe the design breach suit has any legs as really both vehicles are heavily reminiscent of a proper#LandRover #Defender.

Both companies would be better served by focusing on delivering great #EV products rather than paying lawyers.

  19. A new post on my hillwalking blog: an overnight trip taking in Gulvain, a Munro close to Fort William and Glenfinnan in the Northwest Highlands.
