One of our member build a small turret orchestra inspired by Portal 2.

Each turret is driven by a solenoid switched through a solid state relay. Conductive copper strips and 3D printed spring contacts make the units hot-swappable, while a Pi plays a MIDI file and the original audio at the same time, triggering each turret based on its assigned note.

One of our members built a 3D printed Battle/Death Racer. If you haven't heard of them: Death Racers are small motorized vehicles where the goal is to knock the hat off the other rider's figure. The more racers, the better the duels.

Now he just needs a few more makers to build their own so the battles can finally begin.

This little robot is one of our members' projects, and he is currently working on his autonomous capabilities so he can drive around without external help.

We got a new table saw and had the chance to test its additional safety feature, which helps prevent injuries from contact with body parts.

No wiener was seriously harmed in this experiment! We hope to integrate the saw into our current setup soon.

Work safety is always an important topic in a workshop, but especially in an open workshop with many non-professionals. We are happy about a motivated member improving things practically, from better safety goggles, new table saw push blocks, info material and safety course.
