Das für den Schulbetrieb konzipierte #Multimeter #Polytest 1 wurde um 1978 im VEB Musikelektronik #Klingenthal, Betriebsteil #Simeto produziert. Es ermöglicht die Messung von Gleich- und Wechselspannung (0-60V), Gleich- und Wechselstrom (0,3-1A) sowie Widerständen (0-100kΩ) in 16 Bereichen. Die Spannungsversorgung des 140x95x45mm großen und 400g schweren Gerätes erfolgt über zwei R6-Mignonbatterien.

Mein #Tischmultimeter ist da. Habe mich dann doch für das #Rigol #DM858 entschieden. Kleiner Formfaktor, VESA Halterung, gute Webschnittstelle und großes Display haben dann für sich gesprochen. Leider bootet es etwas lang, aber normalerweise läuft es dann ja am Stück durch. #Multimeter #messgerät

Ich brauche 5 mal im Jahr ein Multimeter, 2V bis Netzspannung oder Strom oder Ohm. Ich hab eins.
Außer: hat 9V-Batterie, aber einmal vergessen auszuschalten, und es ist beim nächsten mal leer. Nervt.
Ein Träumchen wäre:
- Anschluss an USB-C vom Handy für Stromversorgung und Daten
- kein eigenes Display, mir reicht die Anzeige in der AppDie Elektriker gruseln sich jetzt, wegen Isolierung und so denk ich. Dennoch: gibt es sowas in der Richtung?

I forgot to turn off the lights on my 1986 #fiat #panda 4x4 and now it won't crank 🤦♂️
I'm stuck at the #mountain house. It's in the garden, waaaaay below the street, and I cannot push start it (also, the #battery seems to be completely flat, so it probably won't start even if pushed). I've got no #multimeter here, but I've got a very old #ATX #powersupply from an old desktop #computer. Challenge accepted!

Wer denkt sich sowas aus und sorgt dafür dass sowas auch in Firmwareupdates Bestand hat? Manchmal wünsche ich mir Nixies oder 7-Segmentanzeigen zurück. Wer sich das #Rigol DM858 kaufen will, sollte sich an diese Anzeige gewöhnen und Geduld beim Hochfahren mitbringen. Der Unterbau läuft auf Android. Mal sehen, ob man die Anzeige irgendwie tweaken kann. Dieses "Kunstwerk" ist jedenfalls eher meh. Ansonsten funktioniert das Teil einwandfrei. UI-Designer sind wohl bisweilen Sadisten. #elektronik #multimeter #messen

#Fluke, #Gossen, and other manufacturers of high-end digital #multimeter should seriously consider piggybacking on #mobile phones.
That way, they can focus on their core competencies of multimeter frontend, protection circuitry, function generation, low-level signal processing, and so on., while leveraging the phone's high-level data processing, massive storage, AI coprocessor, graphics coprocessor, touch UI, large screen, customisability, programmability, and the like, not to mention the fact that every #EE pockets a mobile, these days.
These two devices can then interact via a high-bandwidth cable or near-field connection.
As a long-time user of traditional multimeters (I started on the Simpson 260 analogue VOM, before switching to a Fluke DMM), it sickens me to say that. But I do believe this trend is inevitable. Some might even argue that such a mode shift necessary and good.

I spent ten minutes wondering why I was having such trouble cutting a trace on one of my custom protoboard PCBs - was my knife too dull? Was there something wrong with the board I'm using? Is it connected somewhere that I'm forgetting about?
I looked at everything multiple times, probing and getting the BEEEEEP of the continuity mode on my meter.
And then realized the trace *was* successfully severed, it's just it was jumped by a resistor that was only 11 ohms, which is under the threshold my meter considers "continuous". 🙄

Ist das der Kupplungsstecker Stäubli MC4-Evo 2000 (PV-KST4-EVO 2000) also nicht MC4-Evo 2 oder MC4-Evo ready?

One of the many weird things my dad left me was his #Fluke digital #multimeter. It's decades old, but Fluke is know for its high quality and it's still worth a small fortune. It was however incredibly dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning. Naturally I took it #apart, chugged some of it in the dishwasher, cleaned the rest by hand, relubed what need to be lubed and put the whole thing back together. With great #success, I might add. Feelt a bit like hanging out with my #dad again. Good times.
