It’s past time I upgraded…
I need an economical modern printer that can do multimaterial either OOTB or via upgrade kit with a bed bigger than my Ender 3.
I don’t mind assembling the printer myself, but I don’t have the time or energy to BUILD a 3D printer.
I know Bambu Labs is the big dog on the block, but their firmware shenanigans have left me wanting something more open-sourcey, if that’s a thing.
Suggestions? Boosts appreciated.

There are some unlikely filament pairings that will make your life much easier if you use them right. Here's what I found works for easily peelable support material and for permanent bonds!

Had to get creative with these hinge covers—ended up using PLA as support material for a PETG print for the first time!
My first attempt failed when the organic supports broke, but the second try worked out well.
I set the bed temp to 60°C and used a small brim around the PETG parts. I also set the organic supports to double walls up to the tips.
Multiple wipe towers would be a big help for these kind of prints!
