Things I learned today: the taste of mulberries, as our neighboring house (unoccupied as far as I know,) has a mulberry bush/tree that hangs over our fence. Jo found me one and it was interesting. I'd like it as a flavor, I think, but I'm not a big fan of berry texture in general. Still, it was kinda neat to eat something grown in our own yard.

Also very pleased to see a red admiral #flutterby in my tiny home garden. 🦋Seems it is summer. As a failed vegan, had bean and organic salads for lunch. The fish fingers were not so vegan. However fish don't have fingers, so did not feel too bad ​:dopefish:​

Most Mulberry trees here are White Mulberries, introduced to North America in a failed attempt to farm silkworms. They provide an attractive buffet for a host of critters. I encountered a Pileated Woodpecker snacking them straight from the tree. Snapping turtles like them, too.
