You do see occasional reports in the news, or on TV programmes following the lifeboats, of people getting stuck in mud flats.

I always look at them and wonder how stuck they really are; sure, they weren't expecting to sink, and are unprepared - completely right they call for help.

But if I WANT to sink, if I EXPECT to get stuck, and given I'm not exactly unfamiliar with pulling myself out of thick mud, I always wonder if I'd be ok in their situation.

Having lived near the Minas Basin of the Bay of Fundy in Sipekne'katik #Novascotia and now beside a tidal #mudflat this video was fascinating.
