  3. That's a wrap on #MuC2025 for me. Thank you @mucConf! 👍 I got to meet @marmarta, @raka_a11y and @maxpascher for the first time 👋, and I reconvened with @jannis after a year. 😃 I saw @kakoepferl and @GUPA_President from a distance a few times, but regrettably didn't say hi. 🥲

So @jannis, you think this is enough people to try the MuC fedi meetup thing again next year? 🤔

  4. So all of my favorite #MuC2025 practitioner talks were together with mine at the same track - I think this means the conference plan is very well put together :D

  5. At the panel Knowledge Skills and AI at this years @mucConf #muc2025, Fiona Draxler, Lars Fritsche, Sarah Lange, Jayanto Halim, Christina Schneegass and Thomas Kosch, moderated by mysel, panelists brought up a number of concrete examples from a wide range of domains from production, production management, education, communications, programming and creative processes.

  6. Starting the last day of #MuC2025 by checking out of my hotel. 🙂 After that I'll be at the conference's last paper session. The only person I can spot in the list who has an account on here is @DBuschek, co-author of “Human-AI Interaction Patterns in Creative Domains and Their Time-Based Visualization” (doi.org/10.1145/3743049.3743081). I'm curious what that will look like.

An then it's the last keynote by Mark Coeckelbergh, who, as it turns out, is on here too: @coeckelbergh 😄

  7. It got late at #MuC2025 for me, which is expected enough for a conference dinner I suppose. I spent the afternoon with association organizers to talk about secret projects™, and from there I went to the conference dinner. Very funny crowd at my table and the food was nice. 🙂 The event was, too. Didn't overstay itself like these things sometimes do. One last keynote and paper session tomorrow, then just the trip home!

  8. Late #MuC2025 start for me today, had to spend the morning prepping stuff for the GI FB MCI meeting at 2pm today. But joining up with an academic conference at lunchtime seems appropriate enough, no? 😁 I hope paper session 3 was fun!

  9. #MuC2025 day three - yesterday's poster and demo session was amazing and did up my experience of "talking with people about overthrowing capitalism" to a more acceptable level of "1-2 talks per hour". Also apparently I managed to explain Qubes to someone in German! At some point I might start feeling comfortable with saying I do speak the language without 10 minutes of hedging.

  11. Live reflections from the ongoing #muc2025 @mucConf - UX professionals in organisations are challenged (in practice) to communicate tangible business benefits of including UX. This observation stemmed from software development for b2b products, and in a special applicaiton domain -> with limited competition.

  12. My #MuC2025 day is slowly coming to an end. I ended up skipping the second paper session ("AI & Robotics" is fairly unlikely to have anything for me). I was going to go to the student #HCI research event in the afternoon, but then I remembered how overcrowded the room was last year, so I went to my first @germanupa event instead, a workshop by their ethics working group which was great. 🙂 Now I'm outside, trying to decide in which order I want to pursue the poster session and the food trucks.

  13. I really love this sustainability hack from #MuC2025: everyone gets a reusable PET bottle and there are dispensers with all sorts of tasty or plain water.

  14. Fedi people I have spotted in the author list of #MuC2025 paper session 1:

"A Systematic and Validated Translation of the Perceived Empathy of Technology Scale from English to German" co-authored (and currently being presented) by @svenmayer - doi.org/10.1145/3743049.3743082

"Pop-Up Participatory Exhibitions: Combining Ideation, User Research, and Outreach in an Interactive Format" co-authored by @RaphaelWimmer - doi.org/10.1145/3743049.3743067

  15. Mensch und Computer 2025 is officially underway!

The conference began with a grand opening that set the tone for the days ahead:

    – A retrospective on 25 years of MUC
    – A celebration of its birthday and the community behind it
    – A call for diversity and openness
    – And the warm, welcoming spirit that defines MUC.

Here’s to an inspiring week of exchange, new ideas, and meaningful connections.

Let’s make this a great Mensch und Computer — together.

  16. Second day at #MuC2025 . Very interesting experience, I'm learning a lot, but after a decade in hacker spaces, it feels weird to have spent over a day at an event and not have heard anything overt about overthrowing the entire political and economical system.

  17. At Mensch und Computer 2025, sustainability is part of the program.

Each attendee will receive a reusable bottle, and refill stations are available at the right end of the ground level area. By refilling instead of replacing, we reduce plastic waste and take a small but meaningful step toward a more sustainable conference experience.

Together, we can make an impact.

  18. About to start my #MuC2025 day with a keynote by Luigina Ciolfi @luiciolfi, should be good. 😃 Paper sessions after that, gonna be a long day ending with the poster session that I don't want to miss.

(My second presentation yesterday went well, but then I got tired and went to the hotel to sleep.)

  19. First presentation of the day is done (and so is lunch), lots of cool conversations among workshop participants. I talked about my 2016-2020 project almost as much as the 2021-2024 one I was there to present. 😄 #MuC2025

  20. First #MuC2025 workshop started with a keynote by Ceenu George (TU Berlin @tuberlin), someone I had never come across before, talking about field research methods. Prof. George seems, academically speaking, cool AF? It often feels like the German-speaking #HCI community is small and close-knit, but it doesn't seem to run out of inspiring people. 🙂 Check out her lab website: hci.tu-berlin.de/

  21. Chemnitz leaving a very nice first impression on my walk to the #MuC2025 venue. 🌞 Workshop day, let's go!
