I think some of the cards are powerful, but I'm very "meh" on the concept.

Zeit für neue #MtgArenaStats, dieses Mal für #MTGLTR.
Wieder fast alles ein bisschen mehr als im vorangegangenen Set und vor allem wieder ein höherer Rang in Limited als Constructed. Draften hat wieder deutlich mehr Spaß gemacht. Ein bisschen wundert mich, dass Rot meine am häufigsten gespielte Farbe war. Aber gut, ist dann wohl so. 😉 -

This is your reminder that Lembas is a Food.
Most cards which allow you to sacrifice a food for other abilities don't specify that it must be a Food token.
Lembas is a lot more flexible/useful than you think it is...

CW: The 'Ban Orcish Bowmasters!' conversation is comprised of two groups:
-- Those who think it's a fine and reasonable tool in a game of Commander; and
-- Blue players who think they should be the only ones able to negate/punish other players for taking perfectly normal steps in gameplay.
If you're ENTIRE strategy is derailed by cards making it hard/impossible for you to cycle through your deck, maybe find a new strategy? 🤷

This card isn't as bad as you think it is, especially in slow formats (draft, sealed, etc.).

How is WotC so perpetually bad at creating packaging which doesn't damage the cards, THE MAIN PRODUCT FOR WHICH YOU ARE GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY?!?! 🤯
So many of the "Collector Sample Packs" from the LOTR Commander Decks I've opened are SIGNIFICANTLY bent from being crammed into the packaging which is obviously not sized correctly to accommodate them.
Seriously, people this bad at their job shouldn't have a job. 😒

My favorite scene in The Lord of the Rings was when the 2-4 bands of travelers who were each carrying copies of The One Ring met on a battlefield and started summoning orcs and horrors to fight beside them to try and kill the other group(s). Then, when all but one group was destroyed, everything blinked out of existence until 2-4 new bands of travelers suddenly appeared out of the ether and began engaging in the same behavior.

I think one of the best ways that the Magic: The Gathering Lord of the Rings set is paying homage to to the original stories is that by the time I get halfway through reading most of the cards, I've lost interest and moved on to something else.
