No, I did not actually run 72% land in my Secrets of Strixhaven draft. But this particular game I got most of the mana from my deck in the first few turns. 13 out of 18 cards being lands, I think that is a record for me.
If it hadn't been for Decorum Dissertation I would probably have given up. Quickly drawing through 2 lands at a time is less frustrating than drawing 2 consecutive lands for turns on end.
Decorum Dissertation definitely won me the game here.

Great news - the devs behind Mtg Arena are unionizing!
They have an open letter to WotC laying out the details, and inviting WotC and Hasbro to recognize the union voluntarily. Everyone who spends money with WotC should put pressure on them to accept this, imo.

Finally got around to play my first #MTGOTJ quick draft (after two sealed events which weren't that great with 1:3 each). And directly managed a 7:0 trophy!

The rate of opening Big Score cards on #MTGArena seems miserable. I opened 100 OTJ packs and 10 gold packs today and got a grand total of one card from BIG.
Hopefully they’re all unplayable, because I don’t want to spend all my mythic wildcards on this bullshit.

Ok, so in a week from now we'll get "Timeless" as a new (ranked) constructed format on #MTGArena .
"Timeless is a nonrotating, Constructed format played with 60-card decks where every card on MTG Arena is legal. This includes digital-only cards, the upcoming Khans of Tarkir set release, and any future set releases. Timeless will use the rebalanced versions of all digital-only cards, but the original tabletop printings of all non-digital cards."
It will also bring a restricted list (i.e. only one copy of a card in deck and sideboard) that will consist of the following cards at the start:
- Channel
- Demonic Tutor
- Tibalt's TrickeryNext week's #MidweekMagic will then be a "Timeless" event.
I guess I'll need a shitload of wildcards to participate there...

Kudos to my two opponents who didn't concede when my "Sheoldred saga" (i.e. "The True Scriptures") flipped and I got all creatures from both our graveyards onto my battlefield!
Of course not all matches in this #MidweekMagic event were as glorious as those two, but "On The Edge" is always fun. 😀

My brother says I should find an #MtGArena streamer that I like, but…
Ugh, watching other people play is boring. And video is horribly inefficient to learn from (which is why Facebook lied about it).
Also, I've got #WarhammerTV that I don't watch enough. If I'm going to watch anyone play anything then I'd at least like the narrative of a battle, not just people throwing cards around and talking about how this impossibly deep combo with very expensive cards came off this time!

Here's my #introduction
I joined Mastodon in 2018 with my main account on a general instance with no focus on a single topic, so this is my #MagicTheGathering #MTG related alt-account. My main account also has some Magic content (in German and tagged #mtgde), too.
My times playing paper magic were from end of 1994 (Fallen Empires) to 1998 (Stronghold). I came back to Magic in 2021 (Kaldheim) via #MTGArena and now only play the digital version (but next to no Alchemy, though).
My fav formats are Draft and Standard but I also like some of the options during #MidweekMagic, e.g. Pauper or Artisan.Besides Magic my interests are pen and paper roleplaying #pnp - mainly #Pathfinder (1st edition) and #DungeonCrawlClassics #DCC - as well as #Metal music - mostly #DeathMetal, #ThrashMetal and #IndustrialMetal.
I'm a software developer and for example made a tiny contribution to the 17Lands client to work with non-standard installation folders of #MTGA using Wine on Linux or wrote a Firefox extension to download your collection raw data from 17Lands - which now is useless since the day WotC changed the player's log format to no longer include that data.

Mir macht #MTGArena gerade weniger Spaß als sonst. #MTGONE als Draft Format packt mich nicht so recht, dementsprechend wenige (9) Drafts hab ich gezockt, zwar 2x mit 7:x aber auch 3x 0:3. Und Toxic kann ich langsam nicht mehr sehen.
Standard bedeutet eigentlich, dass man die meiste Zeit von Mono-Rot verprügelt wird bzw. Gegner gleich conceden, wenn man selbst on the play Mono-Rot zockt.
Muss mich vielleicht doch mal an Explorer oder Brawl wagen.

Posted about this before when the BRO Alchemy set dropped, but it looks like with #MTGONE it's officially the end for free three-pack codes when sets release.

CW: Magic the Gathering
I’m playing a spectacularly weak WU Soldier deck in a #MTGArena #MTGBRO draft, and somehow I’m 2-1 so far.
My guess is that since I don’t play enough to get out of Bronze (the lowest) competitive tier that I’m squeezing more value out of it than my opponents - and getting a bit lucky. If I could just get better at the *draft* part now…

Midweek Magic time again on #MTGArena. Phantom Sealed with Brother’s War. It’s both good and bad when MWM is Sealed. Good because you can try a couple of different builds and, unlike actual Sealed, there’s no pressure when you lose. Bad because, if you open a bad pool, it can be a slog getting 3 wins. Quickly stuck together this U/W Soldiers pile and got the 3 wins in 5 games but suspect there may be a better build in there somewhere. #MagicTheGathering, #MTG, #MidWeekMagic, #MWM, #Arena
