Some fixes are applied which appear promising so far, I'm seeing better performance already, so hopefully things will level out soon. I'm still keeping an eye on it 👀

Automated tooling has now been installed on #MstdnParty and #MstdnPlus to address reports of #spam from and to the instances.
For other #MastoAdmin's: all accounts use gmail addresses. One IP is 89.163.206.181 (German VPS) and the other is 122.165.217.244 (Indian fixed-line); it's unclear what pattern there is to actually prevent this attack.

Okayyyy, I made a bit of a mistake (saved the database dump to /tmp and subsequently rebooted before restoring the backup).
It's not a huge deal, I just have to redo the database backup (which took a while the first time around), so... mstdn.party is going to be offline a little longer than I hoped 😢 #MstdnParty

📣 Announcement: #MstdnParty will be undergoing maintenance on Tuesday, February 20 at 1:00 PM Central Time (19:00 UTC), as we move to a new server. Expect potentially 30-90 minutes of downtime.
We will post a reminder to this account 15 minutes before shutting down, and we'll post again when the migration is officially complete.

We're seeing some slight technical difficulties on #MstdnParty, one of our processing servers crashed, which has things running at a slight delay. If you've noticed things like your home timeline being 2-4 hours behind that is why.
Things should be fixed, and we're seeing the delay/latency decrease steadily so far, so things should be back to normal soon. -@jonah

@austin I am on #MstdnParty all the time. I think these policies are are well thought out, strong, and flexible. I like how you point out your alignment with other influential instances and how your rules may or may not differ. I like the blunt and short language on illegal content. I like how there is an emphasis on posting in good faith and how bad faith behavior will be quickly banned.

I've just added a "#moderation information" document for #MstdnParty and #MstdnPlus. It mostly serves as a working document detailing the moderation process and suggesting recommended (but not "mandatory") behaviour. Feedback welcome!

I will not be suspending/defederating Threads[.]net on my Mastodon instances, and I've written a post to explain why and preemptively answer some questions for everyone who trusts me with their accounts:

I hope this explanation makes sense for those who wanted us to defederate with Threads. Federating with Threads does not impact your own privacy, contrary to popular claims. We still reserve the right to limit/silence Threads (and likely will after they launch, I elaborate on this in the post above).
